Usual "G" names as "J" names?
It's a tradition in my family to give the baby a name that starts with the same letter as the parents or grandparents. In my case its J. I've heard many names starting with a "J" sound and I really like them, but they all start with a G. I've gotten those names and replaced the "G" with a "J". Which ones are your favourites?
Jiselle
Jemma
Jenevieve
Jillian
Jerald
Jerard
Also, what do you the think of the names Gabriel? Named after parents - Gladys and Rodiel. Can you see where it comes from??

Jemma and Jerard. I'm pretty used to seeing Gemma with a J, so it looks fine. Same with Jillian. I think Jenevieve and Jiselle look a bit funny though. And not to be horrible or gross, but spelling Giselle with a J just lends itself more likely to the inevitable nickname ji.zz, which is obviously unfortunate.

I'd say Jillian is more common than Gillian. I would pronounce them differently anyway. Jillian is Jill as in Jack and Jill went up the hill... and Gill is like the gills on a fish.
Jemma is okay for me. That doesn't look too weird to me.
I would say no to Jiselle and Jenevieve though. Those look strange.
Jerald and Jerard are okay. I prefer them with G but they don't look too crazy with J's.
Gabriel is good. I see where you got it and I think it's a great idea.

I know its my name, but I honestly like the name Jemma better.
Then I like the name Jerard better becuase I can just imagine Jerald being picked on and his name being called in a nasty way.
Well done with the name Gabriel- very clever, I think its nice, like angel Gabriel. Your parents would really like it as well, but how would you name any further children to make sure they had a special name as well?!

I like Jillian, and Jemma the best.
And I love Gabriel! I can totally see where you combined both of your parents names to make it into one. Very creative and cute :)
