Is there a real website that helps you choose an online university? (Most of them look like advertising)?

I'm trying to find one that's cheap.

All the ones I find never let you search them, based on price.

    Hi Paul

You have breached the perimeter of wisdom. Congratulations - many people never get there.

The search services are sham services for sham educational institutions.

Online is okay if you just want to learn about some stuff in a slightly structured way.

However, if you intend to use the online studies as a job qualification or enhancement, you are probably out of luck. I am regularly told by employers that applications with U of Phoenix or Capella et al. go straight into the trash.

You are much better off at the local community college. The costs will be far cheaper and the courses actually transfer if you go after your Bachelors.

The worlds "cheap" and "online college" don't belong in the same sentence. All of them ARE advertising. You need to contact your local state or community college ALL brick and mortar schools have online classes now and you pay 1/10th of those on-line for-profit diploma mills.

No one takes a distance education seriously in the world of working, because it only looks good from a distance.
