Yes war protesters are afraid of being called racist for not agreeing with Obama keeping the troops in the Middle East instead of bringing them home like he promised.

    We're still out there.

You and I have different memories of how war protests were covered during G.W.s' stolen terms of office.

What I remember is a massive, global demonstration by millions of people on the eve of the U.S. invasion of Iraq that I had to find out about on Democracy Now because no other U.S. network from Fox to P.B.S. mentioned it.

Lately, you have the U.S. Social Forum in Detroit, the recent protests at the G20, the recent Southern Climate Conference in Bolivia, none of witch were covered by the U.S. fascist propaganda machine, because if our media covered such stories we as U.S. citizens might start thinking about the damage our giant multinational corporations are doing environmentally, socially and economically around the world.

If we were to start thinking about such things, we might not want to consume quite as much as we have been.

We might start to feel a little sorry for the Asian factory workers, or the women of the Congo, or the Iraqi and Afghan civilians our military are killing for C.E.O.s.

We might decide we don't want to live better at the expense of others anymore.

We might decide that Milton Friedman, Ayn Rand and Ronald Reagan were poison to our national and global economies.

It was never "cool" to support killing. It isn't now. It has, however, always been a very effective way of making the rich richer and the poor dead. Greed is the motive for war, and greed has openly ruled the world since Eisenhower. It would be up to us to change that.

I am still as anti-war as I ever was.

I never attended a protest while Bush was in office, or after. I prefer to write my representatives and the office of the President directly, in regards to matters like this. To effectively get your point across, one shouldn't act like a raving lunatic.

On March 20, 2010, thousands marched by the White House in Washington, DC, to protest the U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The event was organized by A.N.S.W.E.R. and other groups.

    DOH!

I am so sick of this question. I never protested, so I can't speak for others, however I would assume that the difference is that once a war has been entered it needs to be finished. Obama didn't start it. Also, there are plenty of protesters.

It's not an excuse Casy, I never protested so I don't need one. But who the hell protests a war started by someone else? If you pull out you wasted all that life for nothing.

There are still protests taking place. They just don't get the same coverage that they received during the early months of the occupation of Iraq.

As long as there is no draft, there won't be any significant protesters. The all volunteer army of right wing nut cases and assorted no where people will keep fighting until everyone wakes up and realizes what a lost cause it is.

Apparently the dead soldiers are not an issue when a liberal is in office.

no obamas gona change it ... remember?... it will all be okay and happy. dont worry. he promised.

and it seems your pro terrorism, lets not kill them and let their idea continue to spread, like liberalism its a mental thing, but its possible to get rid of after many years..
