Pagans did you keep anything from your old religion?

This is for those of us who were another religion before deciding to walk down the Pagan path. Did you keep any thing from your old religion. I was Jewish before coming Pagan(Hellenic Polytheist to be exact). I kept the food. Can't live w/o my matzo ball soup when I'm feeling under the weather. I also do like to have a day of rest to recharge my batteries. Though I don't do it the same time every week or even every week. So how about you?

Looking back, I realise I have somehow always been a pagan. Even though I grew up in a very catholic surrounding, thinking I had been an atheist throughout my childhood - but the little signs were always there when I look back now. For example, when I was a toddler I drew charcoal "creatures" on the garden wall and I told my mum it was the "spirits" who were guarding the place. And so on.

I am a Norse Heathen now, but I still keep a very eclectic attitude from those days when I didn't know my beliefs had a name or history, or indeed, that they were beliefs at all. I just did what felt right to me. I still do.

I was Muslim previously, now Egyptian Recon. I never made any concious decision to retain anything, but I still do not drink alcoholic drinks, though I do use them in ritual context, and it's mostly a personal decision not to get addicted or dependent rather than a religious feeling. Indeed, my religious beliefs pretty much require me to handle it for offerings, I just have no interest in drinking the stuff - it goes into cooking instead, when the reversion of offerings is carried out.

Like Aurora, I've kept the music. I've got to hear Handel's Messiah sometime during the Xmas season. And I love hearing a charged-up Lutheran congregation (my old religion) singing the Lutheran Fight Song (that's A Mighty Fortress Is My God to you non-Lutherans) on Reformation Sunday.

The Venerable Bede, an early Christian author noted that the Christian church absorbed Pagan practices whilst it found the inhabitants unwilling to renounce the fairs. subsequently particularly some what Christians now see as Christians practices are in certainty pagan!!! they have absorbed plenty extra provided that then that they look extra pagan than those calling themselves pagan!!

Not really, to be honest when I think about it I never really had a religion ever. My Dad is Mormon, my Mom is Catholic. I always thought that God wasn't the truth and the bible had too many errors.

    I kept this:

Russian Orthodox Choir, Sacret Russian singing Chesnokov's "Gabriel Appeared"

    Choir in Moscow, Russia

I used to sing in the church choir and I love Russian choral music. Changing my religion didn't change my love and appreciation for Slavonic music.

i was raised baptist. i kept the food and the god. pretty much ditched the religious structure in favor of self study which is what brought me to the pagan path.

You Pagans should be pissed at the Christians whom plagiarized most of your ideas.

Learn about the true beauty, privilege and spirituality of being a Jew. You will take the rest of it back too. (Besides you cannot give up being a Jew.)

Just like to add this from a question I just saw:

"Why do people not like Jews?

I mean I'm Jewish (that's not my religion but my ethnic background) but my religion is christianity and people hate me because of that. They say that my "kind" killed Jesus but we didn't the Romans did. It's a stereotype what most people say about us. I just don't understand why people hate us can someone please explain it to me."

You can run but you cannot hide.
