Should I pursue photography?
I'm seventeen and going to be a senior. I've been taking pictures for a few months now. And I'm wondering what you think of my photography. Is it something I should pursue in school?
Here's a link to some of my pictures: Marisarenee.tumblr.com (I apologise for the art/other post you have to sift through.)

Absolutely. Everyone should. It's a great way to express yourself and the shots you posted show some great originality and creativity. Your techniques (mechanics) are better than average and don't base your decision on what others say. If a shot pleases you it's an excellent shot.
Very competitive field to make money at but give it a try. I've seen a lot of successful pros who make lots of money take some terrible shots-so never get discouraged.
I'm usually very critical but can't find much wrong with your shots.

If your intent is for photography as a career then take into account that it is tough to make a living at it. Not only do you have to be a good photographer but you also have to be a good business person.
But if you choose photography or not as a career the whatever you chose that you better like what you do. Because in the end it is work, and even if you like what you do there are going to be a lot of crappy days you will have to get through. And if you don't enjoy what you do then it makes your working life that much more difficult.
I like photography. I even considered it as a career. But I also liked electronics and was good at it. So that's what I do for work and I enjoy it. And my photography is a hobby that I enjoy and it doesn't have the negative that it would have if it were WORK.

Pursue it in school, yes. Try to make a career of it, no.
Not saying not to do it, but it's ultra competitive. If that's your one goal and plan, to be a photographer, then your goals are not likely to be reached. There are lots of people every day who ask about being a pro on here. In three months of asking, maybe one person will be able to. And that's in a good quarter.
It's better to take classes on business and marketing, with a photo minor. Then you can approach photography as a primary, with a good fallback plan. It's easy to "make money" in photography as a sideline gig. Supporting yourself full time from photography is much harder.

Do photography because you enjoy it. Taking classes can be fun but realize that school unfortunately does not prepare your for the real life world of pro photography. It is a very competitive field where the great majority of the quality work is monopolized by few. If you have the talent and tenacity you can make it. Just don not expect it to be easy
Oh BTW, I like your photos. Keep shooting.
