Potty training - using underwear as diapers?

im potty training my son right now, and hes doing great !

but we only have one problem and thats if hes wearing underwear , he treats them like diapers .

When we are at home , i usually let him run around with nothing on the bottom half of him . He only ever had a few accidents on the floor , and withing the first 3 days he was taking him self to the potty for wee and poos , i dont even have to ask him any more .

Since he was doing so good , i put his underwear on him and let him know that he has to tell me when he neeeds to go , so i can help him take them off. But now he comes to me after he does a wee ..

Did anyone else go thur this .. how did u correct it ?

just looking for some helpfull hints .

did you just keep them in underwear and they eventually got the idea and how long did it take for ur little one ?

( please dont suggest stickers or treats - he does fine with out bribes ,i dont want to make him think he gets rewarded everytime he does something good... )

I've noticed that if you buy them underwear with a favorite character or color or just something they enjoy and tell them to not wee or poo on them. Thus seemed too work when I helped potty train my nephew. He loves Buzz Lightyear. He doesn't want to wee on Buzz! I hope this helps!

Does your child stay dry for intervals of two hrs or longer throughout the day? The is the time from some potty Training and to get the ideal consequence in only 3 days you will need to have this guidebook https://tr.im/Z7lcc

Start Potty Training is a system that rapidly gained reputation. The gist of this system is that you consider away all diapers, place on underwear, and don’t ever revert back to diapers.

Start Potty Training is a rather straightforward plan, straight forward and straightforward to follow.

my daughter did this for a while "But now he comes to me after he does a wee" , but now I try to only use the pull ups at night, because she does great in the day now. I don't know really what did it with her. I did start by using stickers (small ones for pee, and big pretty ones for poo), but you don't HAVE to bribe them.

I just used repetition. Everytime she has an accident I just tell her "Well next time, tell mommy when you have to go pee or poo, so I can take you and put you on the potty" I say that everytime with an accident, and I think she's understanding the feeling of having a full bladder, and with my repeated words.

I suggest you don't even really use pull ups. When I put my daughter in pull ups, she substitutes them for diapers, because they have the same 'feel' to them. Not a good idea at all, lol.

I also guess asking your toddler about every 30 minutes or so, if they have to go pee or poo helps. She sometimes tells me when she has to go, and if it's been about an hour, I take her to the potty.

Source(s): It's not the easiest thing, it takes time, and it can be done! I'm not finished yet though. We're still working on getting poo IN the potty and not in the panties, lol.

How old is he? I bought a book when I was potty training my older daughter and it actually recommends no underwear (we never had that problem though) due to the feeling being pushed on the genitals. Try some really loose fitting clothing. I'd say in a couple of weeks it will correct itself.

I remember when i was being potty trained at fist well my mom got me diapers(of course) but didn't give me underwear yet she gave me pull ups (i still remember it was like 2000) and then after that she saw that i would be able to go on my own without telling her and she thought i was ready and gave me underwear.
