How much, is TOO much for a veil?

Budget aside, how much is just too much to pay for a veil? Basically, how much would be just ridiculous? Just looking for opinions here.

Thanks, in advance.

How much is too LITTLE for a veil? If you spend $1K on your dress you don't want a veil from Michaels for god's sake. You can get a beautiful used one if you're looking to save money. Just make sure you love whatever you get. It's the one day of your life that you will dress like a celebrity, you don't wear a $1,000 outfit everyday. My best friend told me that, and it made me feel much better about spending so much money on my outfit for the day.

Anything more than $150. I was scared to use the craft store veils in case the color was off (who knew there were so many different shades of white?!) but I can see how that could be a great, affordable option for a lot of people. I liked a veil that was discontinued so they let me buy the stock sample that was in great condition for less than $60 (originally about $200)- it worked out well.

When I was deciding on my wedding dress, (it was between the one I picked and another one at another store), the lady at the store told me she'd throw in a veil for free if I picked the one at her store, and since I was leaning toward that dress anyway I picked that one of course and got a free veil! But if that wouldn't of happened I would of made my own, thats what my friend did, cuz otherwise they can be very expensive.

I'm alittle cheap though, I always think of what else I could buy with the money. But its your wedding the only day that is all about you and your finace, and I always say its yours and your finaces day so go ahead do what you want and be selfish that day, and be nice, reasonable, and think about others the rest of your life!

It would depend on the material, style and length of the veil. I’d pay considerably more for a floor-length mantilla veil than I would for a simple blusher. Going with the two extremes, I’d pay no more than about $200 US for a blusher, assuming it was absolutely gorgeous. For a cathedral length mantilla – I’d go up to about $400, assuming it was perfect!

For the sake of comparison, I made my finger-tip length veil for about $30 worth of fabric and clips from my local JoAnnes.

I spent 7 dollars on a simple tulle veil. I would say spending more than 50 is too much and more than 100 is just ludicrous.

I would say no more than $100.00....that was before I went shopping for one!

I went to David's Bridal, where I got my dress and my dress was only $500.00.

The veil the consultant picked to go with my dress was $189.00! It was very pretty, it was actually the most expensive one there...so no wonder she picked it for me. Anyways, it looked really good and matched the dress. I justified spending the $189.00 on the veil because I was expecting to spend a lot more on a dress.

    Happy Shopping!

It depends on your budget. I spent more than I would have like because the vail matched my dress. My sister was like "you have to get that." I will be beautiful but it makes me sort of angry that I spent $100 + on a piece of fabric with some gems on it. You only get married once (or at least that's the idea) right? I'm sure it will be worth every penny and I will have pictures to last forever.

I spent $20 on mine. I bought it at a craft store and no one even noticed that it wasn't from a bridal store. It just wasn't that important to me, especially since I didn't wear it the entire day.

My friend spent $275 on her veil. I definitely think that was ridiculous!

It's basically lace... paying more than twenty-five cents a yard is more than ridiculous to me. Then again, I'm not romantic.
