Kpop Fans: Why do you listen to the group you listen to?

Good lord girl, that was ALOT to take in lol j/k. But it really saddens me that you NEVER mentioned DBSK Y_Y. Anyways......they're my absolute favorite k-pop group.....no I take that back they're my absolute favorite group in the WORLD^^ hehehe. I love them because their real, honest, pure, talented, smart, funny, charming, cute, sweet, good looking ^_~, and.....well, you get my point, this list could go on and on lol. I started liking them when I heard their song

I love all of their music, some of my favorite songs by them are:

Purple Line, Stand By U, Love in the Ice, Bolero, Tomorrow Surely Comes, Wrong Number, Kiss the Baby Sky, Love Bye Love, Begin, Please Stop Time......oh boy theres just soooooo many^^!!!!!

Their truly an amazing group in my opinion, and no one will ever be able to fill their shoes (just my opinion, please no bashing^^). They've broken records no other Asian group has ever done before, they have been in the Genius Book of World Records not once but twice, first for having the largest fan-club in the world, yes.....THE WORLD....and the second one was for being the most photographed celebrity in the world! They've broken so many records it's not even funny....

Their single "Break Out" broke Elton John's record by selling 255,000+ in a week. DBSK now holds the title to "Foreign artist with most number of SINGLES sold in a week".

Their Album “BEST SELECTION 2010” broke 14 years of Oricon History, soaring over international legends Bon Jovi and the Backstreet Boys records by selling 413,000+ in a week. DBSK now also holds the title to "Foreign artist with most number of ALBUMS sold in a week".

I mean, come on....seriously, you can't touch these guys!

They were the first Asian group to win TWO Thailand Music Awards, for both Best Music Video ("Rising Sun") and Favorite Asian Artist.

Their single Purple Line was #1 on the Oricon charts making them the first foreign male group to have a number-one single in Japan.

They have all done chariable things such as donating and volunteering for various causes, Xiah Junsu donated to help rebuild a village in Cambodia and they even named the village after him O.O......how many people can you say have an entire village named after them? Yunho volunteers at an orphanage when he has time off and cleans and helps out, I mean they are truely good people. And thier not fake, which is one thing I love about them.

Thier name Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK) literally means "Rising Gods from the East" and by all that I've put in my answer, I'm sure we can all see that this IS surely ture^^!

I'm a musicholic (humor me^^) and I can truly say I have never felt this deeply about any other group/artist/band/singer that I have ever heard. I mean, DBSK is truly amazing, they have made me become a better person and have touched me with their music and their wonderful outlook on life. It saddens me that they are going through tough times right now with the whole lawsuit and what not but AKTF, they will shine again, I'm sure of it!

YES! Long answers~ revenge!! jks jks ^^; That's really interesting though, I like knowing how other Kpop fans got started =)

1. Before I got into Kpop I was a HUGE Kdrama addict since 2005 (Full House started it all). It wasn't until 2008 that my cousin who was a Big Bang fan finally recommended that I should try listening to Korean music. I was like OK.. Of course the only Korean music I've ever known were the OSTs from the dramas and I never really paid much attention. So Lies by Big Bang was my first actual Kpop song/MV. I was impressed but I wasn't completely into the Kpop scene yet. I only knew Big Bang and I left it at that and continued being obsessed with Kdramas xD

2. Later at the end of 2008, I went back and rewatched Lies again. I wondered what else there was in Kpop. I was bored and literally typed in Kpop on Google. The first thing that came up was "TVXQ" and it was a Wikipedia article. I was like hmm well they're REALLY different from Big Bang! =O

I searched up and watched Mirotic and was blown away!! Kyaaa~ how do all these hot guys even exist?! I must know their names! Jaejoong~♥

And then I noticed a comment about SHINee and how Replay was good. I was like oh this is a good song, but then I went back into my DBSK fan craze. And then Ring Ding Dong and Jojo really made me turn Shawol. Of course there are always comparisons between groups and I noticed it was DBSK vs. Super Junior. Well I didn't know much about SuJu, except there were 13 guys. My first 2 songs by them were U (Yesung scared me with his giant hair lol, but my fav part was Eunhyuk and Kibum's rap) and Don't Don. I didn't become an actual fan until Sorry Sorry though.

Wait! Backtrack to my DBSK-craze~ I discovered SS501 because Jaejoong was good friends with Hyun Joong. I was like whoa another group? I must find out more about this.. And they were pretty good but I noticed they usually "disappear" when they didn't have any promotions or activities. So I lost track of them sometimes =/

OK so those are my top 5 (if I did girl groups too it would take forever!) Basically I discovered Kpop in 2008 but I became more obsessed in 2009. xD

I asked a question on here and got to know a little bit more about FT Island. Anyways I'm still a new Primadonna and now they rank #6 out of my top 10. I should've become a fan sooner, I really like them ^^

1) I found Kpop totally by accident lol. It was in September of last year and I was trying to find Hey Juliette because I hadn't heard it in YEARS and I was talking to a friend about boy bands (basically the 90's lol) and all the songs. The video that I watched was a fan made video (don't worry I have a weird starter video too lol, you are not alone!) with clips from Hana Kimi (Japanese version) frankly...I thought that the guy was cute so I looked up the drama. I then watched the drama and my first impression was that it was weird and everyone was over reacting to EVERYTHING lol! but I ended up loving Shun Oguri and I wanted t see anything else that he was in and that is when I found Hana Yori Dango, which I have to say is the closest jdrama to a kdrama, though I haven't seen many jdramas. After watching Hana Yori Dango I was looking for websites where I could find out about more dramas (sadly at first I was a devoted jdrama fan...but give me some slack lol I hadn't seen a kdrama yet) and that led me to crunchyroll.com. Somehow (I can't really remember how) I ended up finding Lollipop by Big Bang! when I first watched it I was like "what they heck" I almost turned it off when they start singing "lolli lolli oh lolli pop..."but then G-Dragon and his "naaaaah that's not how we do it" and TOP's deep voice stole my heart and I never looked back lol. after finding lollipop I started looking up more music by Big Bang and adding random songs from other artists that I liked. Then I found SHINee lol.........IT IS NEVER ENDING!!!!

1. Well I listen to 2PM, Shinee, Big Bang & Super Junior the most. But I found K-pop by accident! I had a friend on Youtube, who made a lot of AMV's but one day -March last year!- she'd created a cross over of the drama & dance versions of Super Junior's "It's you" ...and I was hooked!

That song remains my top played Korean song, and from that I started to look about into their others songs, quickly becoming an ELF ^^ then she also held a DBSK AMV mix, with Mirotic & Are you a good girl quickly finding their way onto my Ipod from there! Then following those suggestions on YT, I found Haru Haru & Stand Up {my two most played BB songs!} and it kinda cemented my love for K-pop. As time went on I found Shinee and 2PM {then everyone else yadda yadda}. Those two became my favourites <33

ALL IN ALL...K-pop appealed to me, for being different to what I normally hear, living in teh UK there is nothing really like this, especially where I live {north east England} there's a lot of people who listen to rave and dance ¬¬.

Plus...all teh hot guys ^^ *cough* Kim Junsu *cough* Hwang Chansung *cough* Kim Jonghyun *cough* -many more!

Super Junior is an awesome group. Their songs are really inspiring and cool. I you wanna listen to pop genre, go for Sorry, Sorry(all time hit song), Bonamana, Don't Don, Mr. Simple, U & of course their latest release Sexy, Free & Single. If you want ballad and emotional songs, go for Monster, A Goodbye, Daydream, Haru and Memories. There're a lot more songs to listen for both Super Junior & other K-Pop groups like 2NE1, Big Bang, SHINee, SNSD etc. Enjoy!!

I listen to many groups. But I'll tell you about my favorite group of all time (2PM). I listen to them because of the passion in their music & their performance. They are so strong and have great presence on stage. They are hilarious, kind guys with big hearts. They are a great band & I just love them.

1. I started listening to them because I loved their music! The first song I heard was "Heartbeat" & I fell in love instantly. Then I started watching them on Idol Army, Wild Bunny & fell even more in love!

But if you mean what got me started on Korean music was Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry". My friend introduced me to that song then I started searching for more.

2. I found them when trying to find more artists from Korea. I typed it in on google & I found 2PM on a list & youtubed them & (like I stated before) FELL IN LOVE. <3

3. The first song was "Heartbeat"...I already said it but I'll say it again. hahaha I LOVED that song. & still do. I love all their songs actually. They are AMAZING. Amazing voices, amazing passion, amazing drive. 2PM hwaiting. <3

I started out by hearing Lies from Big Bang while I was in Seoul making a stop while on my way to Japan with my family

I was like WOW this sounds amazing, so I looked more into it and started listening to all their music. That was about...a year ago. So then I discovered 2NE1 after watching Lollipop.

I thought they were also really good so I started listening to 2NE1 too.

Then after a while I started discovering new K-Pop groups such as SNSD and SHINee but I only liked some of their songs unlike how I liked all of 2NE1s and Big Bangs.

I then discovered Super Junior and I liked them a lot too so it was my mission to learn all of their names:)

When SHINees Y.O.U album came out I started liking them more because that album was amazing!

After that I just kept finding more and more groups by watching various variety shows and watching Inkigayo and stuff and some I love and some I hate but I would say that my favorite are MBLAQ because I discovered them because Thunder is Sandara Parks brother and she has talent so I figured he would too...and I was right:) and another favorite is 2PM because I thought they danced and sang well and my favorite K-pop group of all time is Big Bang just because they got me started with K-Pop and all their music is REALLY good and T.O.P beats any rapper in Korea or America

But anywho, thats how I got started with my K-Pop love:)

1.What made you want to listen to the groups/artists you listen to today?

Well, the main 3 groups I listen to are Big Bang, SHINee, & Super Junior.

I'll start off with SHINee first. They were the first kpop group I got into & I loved them right away after listening to Ring Ding Dong. That song was AMAZING & it sounded so different from the things I was listening to before. & when I heard all of their other songs, especially the SHINee World album, I was just mesmerized by their vocals. All of their voices are so unique & ack, they're just oozing with talent. But I have to admit, I started listening to them because of their looks xD They were soooo cute & I just had to check one of their MVs on youtube. ^^

I LOVE Super Junior, they're probably my favorite group (really tough call between them & SHINee) but I wasn't that interested in their music at first. I've listened to Sorry Sorry & I thought it was catchy but I didn't think much of it, not as much as I did with RDD. But I fell in love with them through all the variety shows they've been on which then led me to falling in love with their music & adoring all of their songs. They were just so awesome, funny, & clever on tv, I couldn't help but fall for them! I first heard of SJ by seeing Eunhyuk & Leeteuk on SK & they were so cute that I googled them & found out they were in SJ. I really got to know all of their personalities through watching them on variety shows & I love all the members as if they were my family :3

Big Bang ~ isn't much of a story. Listened to Lies, loved it, then listened to all of their songs & loved them even more.

Oh, I guess I already answered this above. But yeah, it's through SK & their looks xD Cos honestly, if I didn't find them cute, I don't think I would of googled them & probably never have found out about their music. Thank God for Star King & cute Korean guys! lol

Like the OST "I Believe" was my first kpop. xDD It was a pretty song...but I wasn't into kpop that time cuz I was young. xDD Then, years later...friends started to talk about Rain and DBSK...didn't like them yet at that time...xDDD

Then, I started to really love kpop was when I found out about Big Bang. ;333 G-dragon. xD

1.What made you want to listen to the groups/artists you listen to today?

- actually back in 2006,i recently got into jpop because of a jdrama someone bought for me,with that i actually found out about BoA,but that didn't get me into kpop completely. it was on myspace where i heard my first korean song (i heard a jpop song from BoA but i knew she was korean&whatnot) it was a Big Bang song ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smKuwvakHd0 ) i found on some music page randomly. after that i slowly started to get into kpop&tried to find songs of Big Bang,but since it was when they first started i barely found anything. btw at this time i didn't have an ipod so i had no idea what MP3s were back then LOL. my freshmen year in high school i was still more into jpop then kpop but that december i got an ipod nano and downloaded any kpop songs i found&liked not knowing about forums&whatnot. it wasn't until my senior year (2009-2010) when i REALLY got into kpop where i was obsessed with the members&memorized their names (before i didnt care too much, sadly) it was actually because of Jay Park. the day he left Korea his name&the members of 2PM's names were on the TT list (okay well just jay's and wooyoung's name since he fainted) i wanted to find out what happened who they were and explain it all to my friend who asked me about it. Jay leaving made me cry. i had NO idea who he was. it was strange,i knew of 2PM,i heard their debut song when they first came out,i heard i hate you but never cared who they were personally.

i was really weird before i got seriously into kpop,i would find out about groups really late&song releases..but i didnt care as long as i still got the songs.the only group i knew about before their debut was SHINee..dont even know how,but i did xD hard to explain without being too detailed hahaha
