how to handle a covert conflict?

I'm really sorry to hear this. This breaks my heart by just even reading about it(I also have a child). I know you really love him because you seem very bothered about it. Well, my advice to you is don't cut him out of your life. Just hold on (that's what mothers are there for), sooner or later he'll wake up and realize that you are his mother and you love him. Doesn't need to get a big bank account to prove this too.
