Have anyone here written their life story?
How did you get started and keep your work organized? Did you change the names and places of people? Have you published? Did you use your own name or a pen name?

I would start with what you know. If you want to you could start from present day and began depending how long you want it to be. It's your own writing style so no one can tell you how to write it. That's the beauty in writing books. If you wanted it a certain way you can have it that way. If you do try to get it publish that part will be complicated and a little difficult. Sometimes people get a lot of rejections from publishers before they get yeses. I would just write it the way i feel it should be written for it is my story and know one elses to tell. Personally i've never written my life story but i am going to one day. Write now i just write poetry and when i've got 200 i plan to publish them in one book. I like writing because it lets me express myself and lets me be who i choose to be. well good luck!!!!

i write in a journal because it helps me sleep. i write what happens during the day and how it all began and my philosophies on life. it helps. just find a notebook or alot of paper and write my brother is already through 2 notebooks and he start 4 years ago. no organizing, no planning, just grabbing some paper, sitting down, and start writing on what happen that day.
