To My Muslim Friends--would you concur with the building of a Synagogue at Mecca?

Maybe you can see why we don't want a Mosque built at the New York location.

Um no, but if it were in any other city within Suadi Arabia I wouldn't. As long as it wasnt' Mecca or Medinah. These are two holy cites for Muslims.

NYC is just a city in America.

Its just a city, not a holy city.

And not all Muslims are for the mosque and not all non-Muslims are against it.

I understand your reasoning, however you must understand, its not even a mosque. Its a center so people can learn about Islam, and there will be a prayer room inside, it will be open for everybody, and the purpose is to show that we are Americans too, and we are sorry that 9/11 happened. Its in memory for those who died.

it's a common tactic of religious conquerers to usurp the sacred sites of their victims. ground zero is hallowed by the blood of non-muslims, so it's only par for the course. they did it all over india and most notoriously on the site of the jewish temple, where they even made up a story about mohammed's ascension. this is their way of thumbing their nose at the victims, and the west has become so complacent about their hostility that they're going to get away with it.

no doubt, there will be muslim street rallies in new york any day now. that's the next step in their takeover plan, which is being enacted in france and england now.

    Peace

Saudi Arabia is a 1400 yrs old Country.. and USA is 300 yrs.. OLD>. ..

Mecca and Medina R the Places of Pilgrimage for Muslims.. so they can't enter those places.. Other Places its the Government of Saudi Arabia which don't want to allow.. it..

and its a command of God

  • Two different issues at work here.

Mecca is located in a country with a theocratic form of government.

The location of the proposed mosque in NYC is in a country in which the government cannot interfere with the rights of people to practice their religion as they wish and to build houses of worship wherever they want.

The building of the mosque is a triumph for the U.S. Constitution's guarantee of freedom of religion.

I don't think the issue is the building of the mosque itself, but the place where it's being built. It is a betrayal to all those who died on 9/11. I can imagine Osama Bin Laden smiling; not only did they bomb us, now they are ramming this mosque down our throats....WITH THE HELP OF AMERICANS.

REMEMBER THAT FACT DURING ELECTION TIME!

You could hardly compare NY to Mecca. Maybe the vatican would be a better comparison.

New York isn't exactly considered a site of great religious importance.
