If you were in Dixie Carter's position as President of TNA...?
How would you run an effective company that, in the longrun, can be a viable competitor to WWE? You are in charge of everything within, you can fire, hire, use financial stability, boost revenue, change what channel you want your product to be on, literally everything a president can do to a wrestling promotion
Your focus is to target a new range of wrestling fans and boost that 1.2 rating iMPACT! gets because you know, with wrestling fans, they are gonna wanna see your wrestling talent with some entertainment thrown in just for casuals
On an un-related note (have done this for 3 years), this day, 4 years ago, the user SQ85 was born.... again, not from the womb, onto Y!A on August 7th 2006 (yes, that long ago) so if you wanna and if you care (I know some don't), post your optional anniversary message of hate (I'm gladly allowing hate, I love hate) or love about the crap that I am (and I can bash myself, it doesn't hurt my swollen self-esteem)
And this is why I sometimes like Y!A. 9 answers, not a single bad answer, that's what I'd like to see

You need help, four years... what the hell is wrong with you? I haven't been able to answer anything for most of 2010 because... well... just look at the first page of questions! Why the hell would i bother? Seriously you give me a good reason and I'd make a comeback, hell just for laughs i might do a for one night only special... raise hell, offend some people and enjoy every last minute of it. What was the point of... OHHHHH. Congrats on four years in the asylum, i promise you we WILL find the cure for your problems we have our top men on it and i will find the cure!
As for your question, if LPSR ran TNA... To be perfectly honest the biggest thing i would change is the very attitude of the question itself, i wouldn't be trying so hard to compete with the WWE. I wouldn't take cheap little shots at the WWE the way TNA wastes its time doing now, it just degrades your product and makes you look small time. Why waste time taking cheap shots? I'd put all the efforts into getting my stars over, getting them on TV shows other than my product to cross promote. I'd be doing things to get the name AJ Styles known around the world with people that don't know wrestling. I'd be pushing people i can make money out of for the next 5 years and having them being a TNA star. AJ Styles, Robert Roode, Eric Young, The Pope (yes former WWE stars are welcome in my TNA as long as i can use them to make me money)
I'd spend a lot of time investing in things that the WWE aren't doing without saying it, the x division would be show stealing weekly just like WCW's cruiserweights did in the 90's. Give the audience something unique and different, not just every week being about the world title and other feuds getting sidelined and a lesser role. One week the X Division title would be the main focus of everything, make that PPV match for the title seem just as important and unmissable as my world title match. I'd give Taz a different role in the company as he just sucks behind the table, he takes away from moments points out things you don't want pointing out. I'd cut out stupid little things like Bubba Ray wearing an LAX tshirt backstage. I'd try new things like a show without promos, interviews and any backstage talking segments... just to try it.
I would make sure creative BUILD to face/heel turns. That's my biggest bug bare at the moment, yes wrestling isn't real and they could do anything they want from one week to the next BUT they are characters and they need MOTIVATION! Nathan Drake in the Uncharted games doesn't go from thief to saving the world in a few segments with the writers hoping no one noticed, he is given a love interest put in danger and he sees that he has to do the right thing because he's nothing like the real bad guys. That's how you build a character and change them over a period of time. In TNA its a case of "This week Matthew I'm going to be..." (stars in their eyes and Uncharted references in one go, i'd love someone else to try that in a wrestling answer) and we have to pretend last week the guy wasn't a dirty cheating scumbag because now he's fighting the good fight but next week he will be teaming with the guy this week he's trying to teach a lesson to (Eric Young's character since the end of W.E.) Clear simple to follow characters who go through changes we SEE, no off screen characters suddenly control them or any other crap. Its basic booking but TNA needs it because that's what gets someone over and keeps them over.
As for firing and hiring, can't really say because i wouldn't want to just cut people if i can't replace them with equal or better. I would make some changes but I'm going to be wise and say that who i would bring in depends on money they want and how much i have to pay them. At the end of the day i'm not Ted Turner or running his play thing, i have to make a profit on my company.
I'd also stop giving away so many "for the first time ever" matches on iMPACT because those matches could sell on PPV. Once in a while a good PPV quality match for free is a good thing... every other week makes watching PPV's pointless because you get a good show for free in a week or two. lets take for example MCMG vs. Beer Money, the matches great but why not use them to sell a PPV? surely you can drag a 5 match series out over 5 PPV's if you put enough effort into not over doing the feud on TV and have both teams winning matches against other wrestlers so they both look ststrongoing into another clash to get the titles? See a small change to a feud that's lasted a month and i've added a selling point to 5 PPV's over 5 months.
Keep it simple, keep it interesting and keep the characters easy to follow. That's how I'd run TNA. I don't care if you like it because you would watch it!
Again sorry about having to be here for 4 years without finding something better to do, i hope you find something soon.

First things i'd do - Sack Russo, Hogan and Bischoff maybe even Flair and Nash (definitely not let any of them in the ring anymore)
Then i'd get back the six sided ring - you need to have something that instantly makes you different TNA did - but not now.
I'd make Impact a live show - and i'd have a second show made from the house shows - not just rehashing what people have already seen.
Definitely keep the PG 14 rating - with the option of going higher on PPV's - again make them different from the competition
I would make more of the X Division - steal any cruiser weight WWE are misusing and attract everyone else i could to get the dare devil high fliers on my show. Tie in with other promos as well - so we get wrestlers from TNA, ROH, New Japan PW and also Dragon Gate US and Japan, I'd even go to CZW.
That creates my next point - start a Hardcore Championship - tonight's PPV would be perfect to do it! Tie in with ECW, but also with the nutters of ROH/CZW - can you imagine a PPV where they don't just use ladders, tables, chairs, barb wire and tacks - but get glass panes, light tubes etc etc
That would definitely get people talking.
I'd pull crazy publicity - get wrestlers onto Jerry Springer etc with fake stories - why not - the whole pro wrestling scene is fake - actually you could get Angle and Jarrett on to discuss stealing another mans wife .....
I'd also make every 3rd PPV free - 1 a month - 4 free a year - that way you let people know what they could be seeing
I'd continue to push tag teams - making sure that we continued to be the company that has them, uses them and keeps them - not just throwing 2 guys together for a couple of matches.
I'd also hire a team to trawl the net - looking at sites like this to see what people are thinking/saying - and also to seed rumours - and improve the story lines -soon as people start guessing right - tweak it.
The big thing i'd do is make sure i was noticeably different from the competition - more extreme, more high flying, hotter women who were still better wrestlers, a different shaped ring, everything anyone else does we can do it bigger and better - but we also do things nobody else has tried to do in the main stream.

Well, if I was Dixie, I would be looking over my Roster of TNA Stars very carefully, and looking for the One Stars I can build the Company around and boost TNA into the Main Stream Spot Light with, On the Top of that List is Mr. Anderson, since he has both wrestling skills and mic skills and is very entertaining! I would be trying to slowly build this Star up, and get him into the Main Event for the Championship by Next Year's Bound For Glory to really make a Impact!
I would pick a direction and stay with it! The One Problem I have noticed with TNA is it is a little lost when it comes to what direction they want to go in, that hasn't hurt them much in the Short Term, but in the Long Term, that is going to be a problem! I think staying TV 14 and being edgy, but losing the Constant Heel and Face turns that they do every few months would be the right way to go with TNA!
Obviously I would want to hire the best wrestlers from the independent companies, and from WWE, it would be unrealistic to expect to get someone like John Cena or Randy Orton to jump ship, but there are guys within WWE and guys who have been recently release like Charlie Hass and Shelton Benjamin who could add to TNA's Programming and would be good hires! If I was Dixie, I would fire anyone who isn't getting the Job done within TNA!
That is pretty much it, I think Spike is a good fit for TNA and a good channel, I wouldn't see any reason to change that, I would make sure to put the Fans First if I was Dixie, be there for my Wrestling Talent when they have a problem, and make myself available at any time a Wrestler has a issue, and then basically let them do their thing in and out the Ring, for the Wrestlers who are delivering the Goods, they would get to stay in TNA, anyone who isn't, would have to be fired!
As far as your anniversary goes, well, I don't really know you, I have heard you cheat by many, and I have also heard a lot of people like you, you did get voted into the WS Hall of Fame, so I guess a lot of people do like you!

Geez, buddy. You better check to see if your head is still where it should be. With all that sucking and kissing *** that user called Rated Silent 2.0 did you might have to open your shirt in order to see.
Somebody might want to tell Mr 2.0 that kissing *** is not how you get into the Top Ten. Faking cancer...now that's a different thing.
And dissing The Dragon, too. Wow...pick the one user that everybody knows doesn't cheat and just about everybody has alot of respect for, and state that a user who does cheat and fakes cancer and all that is better than him...brilliant, that'll score you some points.
Anyway, congratulations on surviving four years of this madness. I've been on Y!A about the same time, though this isn't my original account. How guys like you and The Dragon survive so long with all of the trolls and cheaters all over the place is beyond me. I couldn't do it. It took losing a level 7 account for me to learn not to fight trolls, but instead, to assassinate THEIR accounts. Yeah, I'm here alot but I don't answer very many questions. That's not my purpose anymore.
Congrats on the four years, and many happy returns, and all that.
If I ran TNA, I'd try to get TNA on a more accessible network, like FOX. FOX has a million channels, some on cable, some on satelite, some on regular TV. Lots of places to show TNA, and even more places to advertise it. Spike has a reputation of being for macho men, ya know, showing sports and "guy" movies, stuff like that. Not really a whole lot of shows for everybody. So I'd try to get TNA on a network like FOX that doesn't have a niche audience. And advertise the hell out of it. And play up the differences between the PG WWE and the crazier TNA with their weapons and blood and gimmick matches, etc.
The show itself is good. It's not PG, it's not the WWE, and it's probably as close to having another Attitude era as we're ever going to get.
Really, the only problem with TNA is they don't advertise it. Vince McMahon advertises the WWE on every damn channel it seems. TNA should do the same thing to show everybody they're not like the WWE.
TNA has lots of talented wrestlers, the story lines are no worse than the WWE, and they don't restrict their wrestlers like Vince does. They just need to advertise everywhere so people can see they are different from the PG WWE. So that's what I would do. Try to get TNA on a better network and then advertise it like crazy.

I would tell Nash, Jarrett, Russo, Tenay to leave....do some sort of joint venture with ROH and Dragon gate and CMLL, bring back the X Cup to introduce the new stars. Keep whoever got the best crowd reaction. Do supercard events in Mexico City and Japan.....branding them as Global Impact. Build the promotion on pure talent not on the obscure "its my time" ideology...... hey if the crowd sit on their hands during your matches than guess what you are not a draw. There won't be any 60 year old men fighting in slow motion.
I would say FU to the tv audience and focus on paying costumers who go to house shows as the promotion does a tour around the country and the world. If the tv audience don't like my vision than F them and let them change the channel to the Jersey Shore. This is about what the costumer wants not what some 14 year old geek who does nothing but play WOW all day and finds something to complain about on the internet.
UFC draws because it is as real as it gets.....if somebody is talented and beats a top name they get a title shot in a few months. New stars are born and those that lose a step leave due to the 3 loss rule....the promotion is not built on one single person.....it is built on talent and that crazy Mr. White :)

4 years? damn, that's a long time. Congrats. It has to be hard as hell to not get suspended for that long lol.
If I were president of TNA, this is what I'd do
Advertise TNA shows and PPV's on television, the radio and the internet alot more
only have 6 PPV's per year instead of 12
create a show to highlight the X division and Knockouts (since everyone seems to complain that they aren't getting any attention.)
I would fire:
Orlando Jordan (he doesn't draw and people seem to be sickened by his gimmick).
Eric Young (I know i'm gonna get hate for this one, but let's face it. Eric Young can't draw fly's to sh*t. That's why he keeps getting new gimmick after gimmick, but they all turn out to be epic fails)
I would bring in
Christopher Daniels (fans complain alot about daniels release. Personally, I think he was overrated and wasn't anything that special. But to please the fans, i'd bring him in.)
Petey Williams (one of my favorite X division stars. 2 words: canadian destroyer)
Buff Bagwell (The man is only 40. I've seen him wrestle w/t my own eyes not to long ago and I can tell you, he can still go. If I didn't put the strap on Pope or Anderson, Buff would definetly be the next choice. Very underrated his whole career. Buff >Cena and that's the truth)
crusierweights from mexico and japan ( i'd more or less try to recreate WCW's crusierweight division, which to this day hasn't been matched)
Mickie James (one of the best women's wrestlers in the world. she would fit in perfect in TNA. anyone notice the dramatic decline in the diva's division after she left? (not that it was that great anyway).
Benjamin and Haas (I know they signed w/t ROH, but if I had the chance to bring them in, I would. There are possibilities there. reunite team angle, or have them a prominent tag team. WGTT vs. team 3D or WGTT vs. beer money or WGTT vs. MCMG...all awesome possibilities.
Put the World Title on Either The Pope or Mr. Anderson ( not that I don't like RVD as champ, but I think pope and anderson need time to shine. They are both extremely charismatic and would make excellent champions. No one and I mean NO ONE today is better on the mic than Mr.Anderson, and that's the truth.)
Bring in Tony Schiovane to be head announcer (lets face it, Mike Tenay was better in WCW when he was the "assistant announcer". He's just not that lead guy. Schiovane was the face of WCW during the MNW and would be excellent for TNA.)

Happy anniversary, i mean i dont have a problem with you but still. I would say give control to someone who actually knows about the business. alot of fans think they can run a business and think all you have to do is just book matches, there is alot more planning that goes into it then just that. and to that first dude, tna is far from perfect. if it were perfect, it would be able to attract all types of fans, not just adult fans who think its better just because every night its on it has a no dq match so that makes it good. no it needs to be run by someone better so if i were dixie carter, id try to sell the business and move away from wrestling and focus on taking on a smaller role
- KawajaiLv 51 decade ago
- Fire Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Sean Waltman
- Keep Eric Bischoff and make him iMPACT! General Manager
- Leave Jeff Jarrett off of television and use him as a storyline writer
- Send scouts to Japan
- Hire Kota Ibushi, Kotaro Suzuki, Naomichi Marufuji, and others
- Send scouts to independents
- Hire Petey Williams, Mike Quackenbush, Tyler Black, Chris Hero, Austin Aries, The Colony, Delirious
- Revive X-Division
- Re-Hire ODB, Awesome Kong
- Hire Sara Del Rey, Daizee Haze (with Delirious)
- Reinstate six-sided ring
- Second brand (name pending)

Happy Anniversary :D but never troll again --_--! TNA is perfect IMO. I don't think Dixie Carter needs to change anything, well maybe the ring ( TNA was unique with it's 6 sided ring ). I think I wouldn't give Hulk Hogan such a high position. He is ruining TNA in many ways. He is making his friends win matches. But Dixie can change one thing! She could make Sarita a main eventer so the Knockouts Division would be better.
