Any good metal bands where you're from?

Actually, I often wonder if there are any decent local bands. I'm from Southern side of Ontario, Canada, and I've actually come across a few "local" bands.

and I'm pretty sure that there's quite a few of them that I haven't totally checked out yet. I know a few more metal bands that exist, but I've almost forgotten their names.

theres a pretty good music scene over here. weve got a few nice venues to see shows all within 30 minutes of eachother. plus the surrounding cities have shows often that are no more than a 2 hours drive.

underoath is from this part of town so thats pretty cool. it was cooler when they played better music, but its still cool.

actually yeah, there is a killer band from Athens OH. they're called Skeletonwitch. they recently released a killer album and are on the OZZfest. they've toured with Cannibal Corpse, 1349, High on Fire, Black Tusk, Toxic Holocaust.....tons of great bands. they put on fu**ing badass shows and they are very cool

Not in my opinion. Modern music in general pretty much sucks where I live. And it's a whole damn country.
