Make their money from those who advertise on those sites or from microsoft?

    Yes, precisely. They make money by hosting ads, since it is such a popular website.

    Google makes it through the Sponsored Adverts and Facebook is attempting the same.

    You make money 3 ways usually on the internet:-

    1. Your site is so popular other people want to advertise on it.

    2. Subscription to view site, usually porn.

    3. You sell an actual product or service.

    have you seen the games on facebook? Those people make a ton. People also pay Facebook for ads just like google ads.....
