Moving to a toddler bed?
Why did you put your child in a toddler bed?
... I meant when. >_>

Why? Because she was too big for a crib, but not big enough to even get in and out of a regular twin bed by herself. So it is the safer choice.
And our girls was about 2 when we moved them into a toddler bed. It took a couple of weeks to get them to actually stay in bed all night though lol

1 was 15 months old and I did it b/c we had a new baby that needed the crib.
#2 was 16 months old and I did it b/c when she woke up in her crib she would cry and I thought putting her in the toddler bed she would just get up from nap/in the morning and come get me. It didn't work though..........she is 18 months old and still cries upon waking the majority of the time.

I just put the mattress on the floor because she could climb over the edge of the crib when she wanted to get out, except she was falling down on the floor and that went on just a few times before I decided it was safer to be closer to the ground.

My eldest went from Moses > Cot (at 3mnth) > Adult single bed (at 13mnth)
My youngest is still in her cot (without the sides) at 2y old but is getting an adult single sized bed next month.
When your child is able to walk properly and cimb etc and not fall out of bed several times a night (like my youngest!!) then they should be ready... I think the normal time scale is between 2-3y

I was tired of the crib. And I just had a feeling that she was ready at 17 months, and she did great with it! We also were starting to introduce the potty and thought it would be good if she could get out of bed if she needed to.

I converted my son's crib to a daybed when he was 21 months old because he figured out how to climb out of his crib.
It was a health hazard -- he could fall out of his crib -- so that's why we switched.
