Should this mom have been arrested and have her children taken out of her custody?

I am 100% against leaving your kid in the car on hot days, but this was a little bit different. I was reading where a mother was in the post office and left her kids locked in their car seats while she was in the post office. She drives a new tahoe which has the ability to leave the car running and lock the doors from outside. She says she was within eyesight the whole time and the car was locked. A onlooker called the police after seeing the kids in the car, and the mother was arrested and the children placed with her ex husband. While I disagree with leaving your children unattended in a car, I wonder if loss of custody is fitting in this situation?

No. I don't agree with that at all. If she could see them the whole time, the a/c was on and the doors were locked. Give me a break! Before you know it they will take your kids away from you if you don't cover your sneeze!!

in the journey that your checklist has been sparkling for this reason a techniques apart from 1 incident 3 years in the past, then the regulation is on your facet. you're no longer in reformatory, you're no longer in hardship, and your existence seems particularly lots so as. The choose coping with your case will see all of this and examine that for the duration of below 2 months after the beginning you would be 18. tell the choose which you already know you're able to try this, that your mom is recklessly pursuing custody of your newborn without taking under consideration your individual needs. she would be in a position to't purely take custody of the newborn. It does not artwork that way.

if she could see them the whole time, it was for the ten seconds it takes to run into the post office, the AC was on but the car wasnt, they were in their carseats so they couldnt get into anything and hurt themselves, and the doors were locked, i really dont see why they would take her kids. really, what could go wrong here? no ones going to break into her car and drive away in 30 seconds with her watching the whole time, the AC was on so they wouldnt overheat, and the kids really werent in danger. i sure hope that woman gets her kids back soon.

Absolutely not! If it was a hot enough day, the doors were locked and the mom was in eyesight, it was probably better for the children to stay in the car where it was cooler!

As a mom who has left her kids in the car (not on sunny days) a handful of times I have tremendous sympathy for this woman. My parents used to leave my sister and me alone in the car while they went grocery shopping! It was fine.

Rules and Laws are made to govern the population of people. Individualism don't work. Law enforcement agencies cannot simply make exceptions for just cause reasons. She knew it was the law and she broke the law and the law enforcement officials did their job according to the laws we have our government make to help keep bad things from happening and that govern us to a better society. Personally it upsets me when i turn on the news and another child has died simply cause its mother couldn't follow the rules and wanted exclusions from what governs the rest of us.

She needs to be cited and have a social worker not only do some parent education with her but check in once in a while, it does not warrant removal of the children as of yet.

Um, no, that's kind of ridiculous. She was probably inside for only a matter of minutes, I'm surprised that Legal McGegal even had time to call CPS.

I don't believe so in this case. They were in sight and in a running a/c'd vehicle. Not like they were left in a hot car.
