Thoughts on Muslim Community Center in NYC?

Opponents are too dumb to realize that banning a mosque in America plays right into the hands of what Bin Laden wants other Muslims to think America is all about..... helps recruiting and hurts us in the long run.

Basically if you blame all Muslims for 9/11 then you're justified in wanting to ban it.

But by that standard you have to blame all Christians for the KKK.

Most ppl fail to see this hypocrisy.

If the Muslim community really would like to enhance better understanding of Muslim and to improve the image of Muslim as a religion, they would not be so stupid to go against the will of most Americans, especially the families of 9/11 victims.

Another point, any large development is subject to environmental impact study, zoning requirement, as well as public hearing. Churches and Mosques (a.k.a. Muslim Community Center) are no exception. This project was able to be approved by the New York City Government has everything to do with the city’s desire for political correctness. If this were a French Cultural Center or a K-Mart, it would never be approved.

There was a show on TV about the location. It is on a somewhat undesirable street and the building is an old Burlington Coat factory location. At first I was against it just because of the proximity to the Twin Towers site. As long as the facility doesn't encourage terrorist activity, then why not. Like you said it isn't a mosque.

I think these people PURPOSELY put the "mosque" near the 9/11 site in order to gain media attention and get money from people who heard and support it being built.I doubt its really about "improving relations between americans and muslims" like they claim, because this has clearly already failed (as demonstrated to the large number of people opposed to it). Nothing is stopping them from moving it elsewhere, but of course then they would not get the endorsements and donations they've been getting. Its saddening that inn every single issue in the entire world, the bottom line is always MONEY. EVERYONE is greedy, even the ones who approach it from the supposedly "peaceful" side of things.

They are calling it a mosque because that is what it is.

The community centre now a glorified YMCA is a way to sweeten the very bitter pill.

Moslems involved in the planning and support of this mosque called it a mosque.

If it was a community centre it would not be covered by freedom of religion clause.

It is now being bigged up as a community centre because the idea of a mosque on

Ground Zero is abhorrent to right minded individuals.

And what do I think about it - I think it is a shameful idea and shows the mentality of

the planners.They are Jihadists and no more moderate than Bin Laden.

Strong supporters of this Community Center I want it to be Built and I want the Critics to get over 9/11 and not attack Moderate Muslims they are not Terrorists no need for beating them up they done nothing wrong.

The centuries old tradition of erecting a Mosque in a conquered land

the so-called community center will have a mosque in it. why do you seem intent on denying that fact?

God not getting involved with conflicts in religious beliefs is a potent force for atheism.
