Thinking of getting another cat. Need advice?
Hi there. I got a cat 4 months ago from a rescue centre. She's a year old tabby and has settled well into our busy house (I have 2 young boys). I think I'd like to get another cat for company for her. I live in the UK and she goes outside a lot and enjoys wandering with other neighbourhood cats. I'm wondering if people think we'd be best to get a kitten, or a slightly older cat, and also should I get a male or female? Or does it not matter. Se is neutered and microchipped and any other cat would be too. Thanks.
Hi Paul, thanks for that, our car is getting a bit old and run down so will keep that in mind!! ;-)

do NOT get another female cat. they will never stop scrathing and arguing and your cats will get pushed out or feel unloved as you may give the new cat a lot of attention. If you must get another cat, be wary that it may not have a good effect on your current cat, and your current cat may feel pushed out and unloved. Get another male cat of the same age range. There is a more likely chance they will get along, even though with some cats they never do.

My 8 year old male bengal got along perfectly fine with my kitten Siamese. She was about 5 weeks old he did not really like her at first, but after a while they should get comfortable with each other and if he gets attacking her put them separate then put them in the room again

If you are going to get another cat,, get a kitten.. it is harder to put to adult cats into one home then it is to bring a kitten in the home. Introduce them slowly at first there may be hissing.. but give it time and patience

I'm in the same situation, as my cat is quite sad nowadays as the people who live above me were stealing her baby (don't ask...). I got her a friendly male cat of the same age, and they get along just fine. She's happier nowadays.. and she got her baby back, and hopefully won't dare to take her again, thanks to some yahoo users. anyway, it's working just fine. hope you can have the same for you kitty..
HOPE I HELPED!!!!
