Will CFL bulbs operate in an unheated garage?
My garage is detached with no heat. I know my 4 ft fluorescent do not always come on in the winter. Will the CFL's work? Tired of having a dark garage.

Absolutely, we use them in our unheated garage winter and summer, without a problem. We also use motion detectors so that the bulbs turn off after a few minutes. Tip: if you do add motion detectors, be sure that they indicate that CFL bulbs are OK to use with them. Some types don't.

I use them in my unheated pole barn. When the temps are in the teens during Jan and Feb they're sometimes a little slow to come up to temp but they at least help keep me from tripping over stuff while they warm up.

Yes they will work, also on your 4' fixtures, you can change the ballast out to one that is rated for cold weather start up.
