Is watermelon supposed to do this?
I picked a watermelon from my garden the other day. I stuck it with a knife and i cracked in half. like it almost sort of burst as soon as I stabbed it. It tastes alright just not as sweet as I was hoping. could just be the variety its an orange glow. I have never seen a melon just crack. Is there somthing wrong with it?

No it is good. Some do this because of how thick ot thin their crust is. Usually it means it is ripe!

This is common. Recent rains or irrigation will cause the melon to absorb water. The only problem is that the sugars are diluted and it won't be as sweet. There is nothing wrong with the melon. It's healthy.

It sounds like the melon wasn't completely ripe if it wasn't sweet; if you have had lots of rain, the melon was just reacting to being released from it's tight quarters in the surrounding rhind.
