Hawaii or Discovery Cove in Orlando?

My friend and I are trying to decide where to go Winter Break. So, should we go to Hawaii or Discovery Cove?! and why.

Thank you!

If you have the opportunity to go to Hawaii I wouldn't miss it for anything! Hawaii is a beautiful place with SO much to do; Discovery Cove is a park that will take a day, hardly worth a trip to Orlando for (unless you are planning on experiencing other places in Florida if/when you go to Discovery Cove). If you are just wanting to swim with dolphins, the 30-minute dolphin experience at Discovery Cove is hardly worth spending your entire vacation on. There are plenty of places in Hawaii where you can have the same experience, including swimming with wild dolphins (you won't get to touch the wild ones, but there is something quite magical about it).

I've never been to Hawaii but I've been to Discovery Cove and even though i loved it, I think Hawaii would be a better choice. Discovery Cove is a small park that closes at 5pm. In Hawaii you could book a dolphin experience, and probably go snorkeling in the back of your hotel.

I love Orlando and Discovery cove is AMAZING. However, its one day out a trip. I would never pass a chance to go to Hawaii. I loved Hawaii. There is so much more to do.

I love love love Discovery cove, but like everyone else said Hawaii is a once in a lifetime chance. I would defintely pick Hawaii (Sorry Orlando, love you). You may not have the opportunity in the future.

Hawaii! Definitely Hawaii. I just got back from Hawaii on the 12th, and it was one of the best trips of my life. And I spent 5 years living in Orlando, and believe me, Orlando does NOT compare to the tropical paradise of Hawaii :) Pick Hawaii, and make sure to go to Oahu!

    Hawaii of course!!!

DON'T LET THE SMILE FOOL YOU, CAPTIVITY IS CRUEL

Dolphins have evolved over millions of years, adapting perfectly to life in the ocean. They are intelligent, social and self-aware, exhibiting evidence of a highly developed emotional sense. Here are just a few of the issues with captivity:

    * Captures of dolphins are traumatic and stressful and can result in injury and death of dolphins. The number of dolphins that die during capture operations or shortly thereafter are never revealed in dolphinariums or swim-with-dolphins programs. Some facilities even claim their dolphins were "rescued" from the ocean and cannot be released. This claim is almost invariably false.

    * Training of dolphins is often deliberately misrepresented by the captive dolphin industry to make it look as if dolphins perform because they like it. This isn't the case. They are performing because they have been deprived of food.

    * Most captive dolphins are confined in minuscule tanks containing chemically treated artificial seawater. Dolphins in a tank are severely restricted in using their highly developed sonar, which is one of the most damaging aspects of captivity. It is much like forcing a person to live in a hall of mirrors for the rest of their life - their image always bouncing back with no clear direction in sight.
