DUDES ONLY!!! Honest answers about the kind of underwear you wear...?

How many guys switched from wearing tighty whities or briefs to wearing boxers just because they wanted to avoid getting picked on by other guys in the high school locker room. A lot of guys I know admit that the reason they wore boxers during the time they were in high school was because they didnt want to get picked on for wearing briefs. How many of you admit to doing the same thing when you were that age?

I didn't give my underwear a second thought until middle school came and i knew I had to change for gym, so I switch to boxers to avoid embarrassment. But looking back on it briefs are way more comfortable in my opinion, and I just feel better wearing them

I grew up wearing white briefs. All the guys in school wore them back then. I didn't see young guys wearing boxers until I was in my 20s. Boxers were considered "old man" underwear when I was a teen. As we know, that changed in the early '90s. I evolved from white briefs to colors, but rarely wore any other type of UW. 5 years ago, I saw a fit young guy in the gym wearing white mesh gym shorts with striped white boxers underneath. I liked how I could see the pattern of the stripes through the mesh fabric and his masculine form in detail. I decided to give boxers another chance and ended up wearing them full time. Feels so much better than wearing snug undies, and there is plenty of room for your boys to move around during the day.

I am a well established briefer (for lack of a better term). Primarily, because that is what we boys and teens wore during the 60's, 70's and 80's. The availability of designer underwear, including colored briefs was not a menu option at the time. Unless one wore boxers (which we considered old man underwear, just as today's youth view briefs today), we wore white with either Fruit of the Loom, Hanes, BVD, or Jockey on the waistband or the various store brands such as Townecraft and Stafford from J.C. Penney.

I never had a problem in all my 52 years wearing briefs, save for the time I purchased my first colored briefs (c. early 80's; Bill Blass briefs), and was ribbed by my family. No once during my years in school (elementary, middle or high school) did anyone make fun of my underwear, wedgie me, accuse me of wearing diapers, told me they looked silly, etc.

I realize that is not the case today, due in part, I believe, to the power of advertising and false information. My choice in underwear did not prevent my former wife and I from having three awesome boys and one daughter. They were never binding, tight, or responsible for smothering the boys (the one's connected to my body, not my actual boys).

I realize there are men and women today who abhor and loathe the classic tighty whitey. And that's okay. They are entitled to their opinion. What they need to remember is that their opinion was not asked by me, does not matter to me (although I respect their right to object to my preferred underwear) and I wear what I wear because I like them, their functional, comfortable and have been my best friends since the day I switched from wearing diapers to big boy underwear.

    Wear what makes you happy!

I switched in 7th grade from briefs to boxers, not so much because I was afraid of getting picked on, but just to go along with the crowd. After 8th grade I switched back to tighty whities because I hated boxers. I have no problem with getting picked on. Nobody seems to care.

I really don't understand what this has to do with anything - but - I've NEVER switched. It was nobody's business but MINE what I wore & if they didn't like it - that was THEIR problem.
