Have Men become Feminized?
Do you think men have become more feminized?
Accoding to Jane Gilvary:
"Real men don’t wear skinny jeans. Real men also don’t wear V-neck tees, or accessorized scarves, and they avoid purple and pink like the plague. The mere idea of a pedicure or waxing makes a real man nauseous. If a woman hangs out with this kind of girly-man routinely, it’s only because she wants to share his wardrobe and his non-fat caramel macchiato."

First define what is masculine and what is feminine then we may be able to talk. is a woman any less feminine because she likes to use power tools, has dirty nails, can hang with the guys but still wear a dress and make up? Does it make her any less feminine to wear jeans?
What makes a man masculine?Watching sports? Hunting? Wearing jeans? It's more about gender stereotypes we foster because of our current society. These things change. Change is the only constant. In different societies gender roles have varied a lot. We do tend have a very narrow world view, not just in a historical context but within our current world. We tend to think in absolutes, in black and white. Even though we are a lot more complicated then that. Maybe simplicity is a comfort. Unfortunately though this desire for simpleness is in opposition to our complexity.
We, both men and women, want our partners to encompass everything. Which is nearly impossible for either gender. By the way I know some men that can use a pedicure.

The problem isn't about fashion, it's about guys who let women walk all over them because women think it's their right and men think they deserve it.
Here is an excellent article on the subject. It sounds a bit harsh in places, but there is a lot of truth to it http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-398998/H...
"No doubt at the time, millions of misguided single women thought that having a man who could feel their pain and emote for Britain was a Good Thing. Now, over a decade later, women are waking up to the fact that these men are drippy, sexless bores. The feminisation of men hasn't produced the well-rounded uber-males women were hoping for. Instead, women are now lumped with flabby invertebrates, little more than doormats, whom they secretly despise but are too proud to admit it."

Yes but not based on fashions.
"The normal range of testosterone is reported as 350- 1200ng/dl. Studies in the 1940's showed the average testosterone level to be at 700 ng/dl, 300 ng/dl higher than for men today. In the past, a drop in testosterone levels to 250 ng/dl was rarely reported before men were 80 years of age. Yet today, it is not an uncommon value for middle aged men!"

"There have been a number of studies over the past 15-20 years (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 10), which suggest that sperm counts in man are on the decline. Since these changes are recent and appear to have occurred internationally, it has been presumed that they reflect adverse effects of environmental or lifestyle factors on the male rather than, for example, genetic changes in susceptibility. If the decrease in sperm counts were to continue at the rate that it is then in a few years we will witness widespread male infertility. To date it remains unknown why this is happening and the available preventative measures, which can be taken to avoid a continuation of this trend, are not common knowledge."

Things are constantly changing which leaves all people, not just men, with the option to adapt. In the time of our grandfathers, one provider was enough to get by and women were expected to stay home but women fought for and won their rights so now they're expected to step up to the plate just as men are. In today's time, the average married couple need to both be working to maintain the lifestyle they want.

That is just hysterical.
Skinny jeans first became popular in the 1950's, part of the "beatnik" look. They went out of fashion and now are back.
Men of noble birth and royalty have always indulged in excessive grooming such as pedicures, being bathed by servants etc...It is just that now regular people have the time and money to indulge themselves as well.
Purple was considered the colour of royalty, of kings.
Why mention all this? Because it just goes to show how very narrow our world and historical views are. People need to start looking beyond the surface before judging others.

I, myself have taken pills to grow my breasts to a size 38C.I am still the hardest working male on the crew I run in the Hardscape [ heavy landscape work] business. I work circles around the 21-25 year old boys that work for me. Best of all my girlfriend loves to play with the girls when in the bedroom. No one who I work with cares that I have the breasts that are larger than some of their girlfriends. Love going to the pools! Smiles from the women and eye contact with them as well. I am still the Man!!!!! Ya'll have a great day!

Men should be able to wear what they like, wax, get manicures, whatever. Women should be able to like it or not based on their own personal preferences and not shame them by saying they're not "real men" because they don't act a certain way. This woman sounds like a real fascist.

I get annoyed when I see men in skinny jeans. I laugh when I see men trying to be macho in skinny jeans. Yes, they are being encouraged to have a "feminine side" these days, as masculinity is frowned upon. Men have to subscribe to a feminine society in order not to stand out. Masculine men are ostracised.

Real men don't care about how others attempt to define real men. Those people are usually fake.

Let me put it this way. How can you convince a "real man" that he has a "feminine side"? (lol)--YOU CAN'T. If you can, he's an imposter/wanna-be.
I guess I'm saying MALES have become more feminine. Why? Because many more think and act more feminine than masculine. Simple in my eyes.
