Why do some people deny that men die of prostate cancer?

Fewer men die of prostate cancer than of breast cancer. Many men who do die of prostate cancer are older than women who die of breast cancer. And many men die of other causes when they have prostate cancer.

Nevertheless, prostate cancer is itself the second leading cause of cancer mortality among men, behind lung cancer (which is why smoking is a very big deal).

1 in 36 men will die of prostate cancer.

Because there is a taboo to say when a man dies of prostate cancer. In my country, prostate cancer is about the first cause of death for men over 80 years. It is true that the media give more importance when a woman dies of cancer: matrix, breast, ovaries, etc., than men. It's a funny thing and unfair.

False Pride and the ubiquitous Male Ego?

A fine combination for a "Death Wish" being realized.

And not just because of Prostate Cancer...it is also common in the rapid death of once thought useful braincells.

Maybe they are uninformed or don't know the facts. Also, you state, "Many men who do die of prostate cancer are older than women who die of breast cancer." I think that's one reason why people make a bigger deal of breast cancer. If a young person dies, it's a horrible tragedy. If an old person dies, it's just part of nature.

My beloved subbie had prostate cancer. He was cured of it, thank God, but other men aren't as lucky. They caught his early.

I don't know of anyone who denies this. I do know quite a few men who refuse to go get checked, though. The doctors can't cure a cancer that they don't know a patient has.

Men should get checked regularly, as part of their physical exams.

Because women's cancer is more important, we are the mothers of children and so we should live longer imo.
