When you encounter people who don't know what anime is what to they tend to think it is?

Yep. They think naruto isn't an anime. I facepalm myself.

Most people I've encountered also tough it was porn also(they mainly think of hentai) but they don't know it comes from japan and that many animes use the same style.

And others think of something that deals with video games. Since the word anime is brought up, they think animation.

I know of anime before I know of the word "anime". I used to called it cartoon when I was a kid.

Hahahahhaa, this girl i know said that she saw some guy on facebook join an 'anime club', and she asked what it was xD. But she pronounced it like 'ay-n-eye-m' and i found it pretty funny xD

My cousin thought it was all like Naruto, which really annoyed me.

And others thought it was some sort of neo-porn.
