What are the chances of the LA Kings...?
Splitting the season between Jonathon Bernier and Jonathon Quick. Bernier has shown that he is ready to be put in the NHL yet Quick had the second most wins by a goaltender last year, so what do you think?

Yes Quick did have the 2nd most wins, but did you see how shaky he was towards the end? I forgot the streak but he was stuck at 39 wins forever. Not to mention the playoffs, he wasn't at his best. His save pct and gaa is average, but the way he played at times just amazed me. His name does describe his play style and his flexibility is another plus. He needs to stop giving up the softies though. If he can position himself better and be more sound on first shots, he has a bright future.
Best case scenario he's gonna be Nabokov or or Kiprusoff.
Bernier had some great games in his short stints, but his consistency will be determined. I believe he's more of a structured goalie. He's mechanically sound, and not as wild as Quick.
I look for Quick to start around 50 games, Bernier around 20-25.
LA is in a good situation though, if both do prove themselves, go with the better and trade the other

I wouldn't be shocked to see LAK make a move on a goaltender at the trade deadline if the status quo holds, as neither Quick (I'm just not sold on him) nor Bernier has really grabbed the #1 spot. Heck, even now there's quite a few UFA goaltenders (I figured they would have made a play for Niemi) that can be had cheap.
If you can rotate them...it's not a bad idea. Historically, teams that use their starter 65+ games don't fare well come April/May (Brodeur being a very lone exception). See Kipper in CGY as an example.

I think they will start with quick as the starter but it is very possible that bernier overtakes him or at the least makes the coaches go with a tandem. I think off the bat they will probably be anticipating about 20 to 25 games for bernier and 62 to 67 games for quick, like I said though that can change in a heartbeat with a goalie who hasn't truly proven himself as a starter.

Quick is the starter. If all goes well Bernier plays about 20-25 games.

Its a good problem to have if you're a Kings fan. I'd give the edge to Quick, but at some points Bernier will take over as undisputed #1. Just maybe not this year.

I'm going to Hockey Fest too and can't wait but as for the question it is pretty obvious to me that for now Quick is going to be our started. There is no doubt that Bernier is awesome but he still needs to play more games in the NHL before is is starter ready and i wouldnt want to pressure him like we did with Quick.
It'll get to the point though where he and Quick start playing on a regular basis, each playing specific teams that they have a knack for beating if you know what im saying...

Quick might struggle this season remember the playoffs last year he looked very nervous and end of the season last year he didn't play well. He might be more experienced this year but I think Bernier will end up winning the job. He is there franchise goalie of the future by the way. Wait till the season starts to find out though

They'll give them both some games and see whose better. It's hard to say, but I think Bernier will go through a rough patch. He hasn't played each team, and every time has their own great scorers. Quicker had an amazing season and he faced the majority of the best scorers in the league. But hey, anything can happen. It's Quick for me though.

Don't know. Bernier has definitely shown himself worthy, but I have the oddest feeling Quick will be playing about 3 quarters more of the games Jon B will play.
If your from LA, are you going to King's fest this weekend? It's a little festival held by the actual Kings franchise dedicated to Kings fans. $20 bucks to see all the players and get autographs. It's Saturday. It should be a blast!

i think quick will play around 50 games and bernier around 32 games.
I'm a huge fan of both these young goalies, Quick has more experience but isn't the franchise goalie.
Bernier on the other hand looks like a stud of a goalie and looks like he could carry the kings deep in the playoffs
