Some great depressing movies like Requiem for a Dream?

Nothing Stupid like 'a walk to remember' or 'the notebook'

movies that make you really feel terrible after watching them.

like: Requiem for a Dream, Candy, Cannibal Holocaust.

nothing really mainstream either..the indie-er the movie and unknown the actors. the better.

thanks a lot everyone :)

House of Sand and Fog is the first thing that came to mind.

    Oldboy

There is a documentary called Dear Zachary. It's really good, but there is no reason to make a movie that sad.

Requiem for a Dream BQ: purchase; as I commonly choose dark, depressing movies whilst concurrently looking them fairly humorous, i think that i'm an authority on destiny and/or present day serial killers. BQ2: the marriage Singer, Airheads, Little Nicky, The Waterboy, mixed Nuts, chuffed Gilmore, Punch-inebriated Love, Billy Madison, humorous human beings BQ3: i've got no longer somewhat been around long sufficient to respond to this question.

Two of the most depressing movies that I've ever seen are The House of Sand and Fog and The Road. Children of Men was also a bummer. Requiem was so disturbing in a unique way that I imagine that you won't be able to find anything quite like it, but I really recommend the aforementioned titles.

Dancer in the dark is a very indie and depressing movie, and the main actress is Björk, a really talented singer. It has a musical aspect though, but I enjoy that.
