you first need to establish why she wants to wear it. If it is to attract older boys, wrong reason! if it is because everybody else does, wrong reason. If it because she sees you wearing it and wants to do it tastefully, and look appropriate for different occasions, then fine, as long as it is age appropriate.

At what age? The age she is ready is the age she should be using make-up. First of all, this happens to so many daughters. If you hold her back on so many things, the more she will end up what you didn't want. I'm not saying how to raise your daughter, but if you hold her back on certain things, the more she will grow up to be something explicit.

An example is when a parent holds back a girl with having boy experience. Yes it's okay to hold her back at age 11 or 12, but you simply can't hold a girl with hormones at age 13-15. You have to let the leash a little longer. The gist of the example is that if you hold a girl from boys, she will lust for boys when she gets older, and she becomes what most people would call "slutty"

I would say that around 12, you can start allowing her to use age-appropriate makeup. There is makeup you can buy and learn to apply in a way that is suitable for her age. It can make her look fresh and bright, and even out skin tone and cover blemishes, without making her look older or like she's trying to make herself sexual.

You can research techniques online for applying makeup in ways that are appropriate for the age group she's in. At first, a little lip gloss and light coating of mascara or lash gel is all a young girl might need. (Along with some cover-up for the inevitable blemishes that pre-teens and teens get.) If she wants something to brighten her skin, rather than giving her makeup base, which is really too much for someone so young, she can get a tinted moisturizer.

Once they get into the mid-teens, you can start adding things like a pale eyeshadow, (the first eyeshadows should be a plain nude or maybe a peach shade with no shimmer) and a light pink blush.

well it depends if she asks to or not, i started wearing make up when i was in my second year of secondary school so i was about 12, But i had always worn a bit of make-up but i never used a face of make-up till i was 12.

But that's mainly because i have hereditary dark circles under my eyes so no amount of sleep will get rid of them so i have used concealer on them from when i was 5, my nan used to say and still does now, if a woman leaves the house she must leave it looking the best she can. If your not proud of your appearance then you have nothing.

But the only think i have a problem with is kids using make-up wrong, when my daughters decide they want to wear make up i teach them how to properly, like how to hold the mascara brush etc. and how not to look like an orange.

I let mine use play make up at home whenever they like, as long as they clean up when they're done. They're 4 and 6, so they do not leave the house in makeup except for rare occasions. Even then it's just shimmer powder or lip gloss.

When they're older, and they want to start wearing makeup every day, I'll work with them. For example, even if I think they're too young, I could get them chap stick with a little shimmer in it. They could use shimmer powder or glitter rollers for parties and social occasions.

  • Start out slowly around age 12. I mean with lip gloss and maybe a little face powder. (NOT foundation)

The heavier stuff like foundation, mascara, eye shadow should be AFTER 13.
