How to prevent leg cramps in dance move?

I'd like to do this swing dance move: http://www.idance.net/lesson/1428

But even after an hour of warming up, dancing and stretching, I got charlie-horse cramps in my hamstring muscles when I tried to lock my ankles behind the guy's back (we're both thin). It didn't seem like I would have a problem, but I've never had to squeeze my leg muscles behind me this way. Is there a particular stretch or exercise that would help? Thanks!

Update:

I've actually been lindy hopping, competing, and performing for 10 years. We were looking for a move for a show and I bought the instruction video on idance.net for this move. We'll try again using your tips!

I know this move as the "nose dive".

Well first off, you shouldn't be locking your ankles behind the guy, there's no need. The connection comes from your thighs being above his hip bones. You also shouldn't have to squeeze your legs together too much. You have to lock them in place, but basically your center of gravity should be sitting on his stomach or chest.

Do the lift and set into the position, but don't go down. When you are doing this properly, the guy should be squatting slightly, with his hands on your stomach, palms up, and she should be arching as well. If you are doing it correctly, he should have no problem holding you up in that position. You have to have a strong "core" or abdominal muscles, and hold your body stiff as a board by arching back slightly from your stomach, where his hands are holding you up.

Now when you do the "down" part, you don't bend, the guy does. Since he's holding your center of gravity, he has to bend his knees and let you come down and touch the ground and help you up. He should never let you go into the ground, and you should never lose your core and arch, otherwise you will make it harder on him.

    Anyways, I hope that helps!

    P.S.

You may want to get a private lesson from an experienced instructor rather than trying to figure things out on your own. Try googling "Lindy Hop" and your city/state. At the very least you can find someone who will help you, and/or a fun place to go and dance!

I am a 30 12 months ancient male opening gambling football once more. Have now not performed in 7 years. I had equivalent issues, I used to be advised via a pal to be certain that I drink tons of water earlier than and after excercise. Also consume BANANAS! They have potassium that is helping restrict cramping in muscle mass. I used to be advocated to consume two-three consistent with day. I desire this expertise is helping a few.
