army intelligence cloak and dagger award?
back when i was in high school, i had a senior army instructor in my JROTC program who was a lt.colonel while working for army intelligence. back then as kids in high school there were always rumors and the colonel would occasionally joke around about doing 007 type stuff and things of the sort. but one day i was looking at the award and commendations he had in his office and i noticed one in particular...
from what i can remember it was a wooden and obviously handcarved "trophy like" award. it was very elaborate and read "...army office of intelligence and counter intelligence cloak and dagger award...." (this is what i remember at least) and the wood carved figure depicted a jack the ripper looking character wearing a cloak, with his left arm holding a dagger as if ready to stab an enemy. now ive always been curious, does anyone know what this award is for?

Take a look at the image of wally the spook on this site:
If that is what it looked like, he was probably an ex ASA type as mentioned by Pete.
There are a few old ASA guys that post here.
Even while ASA existed, most people never heard of it.

It is only a plaque he was given by his command when he left some unit or the other. It don't mean a thing. There's more of them things floating around than you can shake a stick at. There hasn't been any real intelligence gathering personnel since the days of the 4 R's ..No Rank, No Respect, No Recognition , No Record. For your information the 4 R's were from the old Army Security Agency days. You can do a web search on the ASA , quiet interesting reading. ASA was not officially in Nam , we were code named Radio Research.

Those wood plaques are generally unofficial awards given to individuals by their units. Not some kind of a official top secret military award.
