if I buy a gas grill can it burn both types of gas?......I'd like to tap into our gas line some time in the future, and use the propane tanks now if possible.

To do so, you MUST get a conversion kit from the original manufacturer. They will give you a new rating plate which is their proof that this appliance is "certified" for use with that fuel. If you "Mcgyver" the appliance and try and convert it by changing orifices etc yourself, you will void the manufacturer's warranty. Also, the manufacturer will take no responsibility if this appliance hurts anyone or property is damaged because you have "altered" the appliance. Insurance companies will deny claims for the same reason

When buying the grill you will want to see how the propane hose connects to the grill. Many cheap grills are press fit on and cannot be removed. Better ones are connected with a flare nut and can be unscrewed. If you getting a side burner look for a grill with one gas connection, some use a Y in the gas hose to connect to each which will make a natural gas connection a little more complicated. Please NEVER cut and splice gas hoses and have a pro do the conversion or at lease check the install before turning the gas back on

I actually researched this question for myself a while back. I have Weber natural gas grill that I wanted to use with propane, but it turns out that you have to purchase a conversion kit for it to do so. It turns out that not all gas grills can be converted from one type gas to the other, so you really need to contact a local authorized parts company who can tell you the specifics whether a) your particular make/model can be changed over, and b) what parts you need to do the conversion, and c) the costs involved.

    Hope this helps.

Some gas barbecues can be converted from LPG to NSG by replacing the burner injectors, but this is something you will have to find out from the manufacturer before purchase.

They can all burn propane, butane or (where available) butane-propane mix simply by changing the regulator (28mb for butane, 37mb for propane). Your LPG merchant should be able to sell you the correct regulator.

You'll need to modify your grill in order to use natural gas. There are kits available to this online and at many hardware stores and home centers.

    Good luck.

i take advantage of charcoal, yet i additionally restore advertisement home equipment(eating place kit) and might see the version between nat and lp gases.the main important difference ive seen is lp burns dirtier, leaves extra carbon in the back of.this might impact the flavor of you nutrients in comparison to nat gas.it ultimately impact the cleansing of your grill and burners.i could circulate with nat.
