You could mention the fact that Muslims have traditionally built monuments on places they've destroyed. Read this article for more info:

They are NOT building a mosque on ground zero. They are building a community center and prayer room some blocks away. There is already a prayer room in the exact location they want to build the new prayer room and community center. If that counts as a mosque, then there's already one there. Here are some things that may help you with your paper:

Here are pictures of some stuff the same distance away from ground zero as the proposed community center http://daryllang.com/blog/4421

The follow up post with a map at the bottom showing where everything is in relation to ground zero http://daryllang.com/blog/4445

The website of the place that's being built so you can see what their vision/mission is http://blog.park51.org/

Good luck on your paper and do your best!

because while your friend is Islamic, and there are other moderate Islamics within America, there is also a jihadist Islamic element within America that would also use the mosque for their own device and I'm uncomfortable with its use as a jihadists site.

because while Americans can be moderately Islamic, and there are other nations with moderate Islamics, the Imman plans to use the mosque for a broader international community as well (to bridge the gaps,) not just for Americans, and those internationalists would use the mosque for their own device and I'm uncomfortable with its use as a jihadists site.

because the problem is not within America itself, the man already has a mosque 12 blocks from Ground Zero, we're not Islamophobic. The problem is stemming from Islamic countries who've declared Jihad on us. If the imman wanted to fulfill his dream of "bridging the gaps" he needs to go to Indonesia, or Middle East, or somewhere there are no longer the synagogues and churches that predated Islam, or the people in those communities that belonged to those establishments, they are largely GONE, because of the Jihadists.

because Ground Zero, is widely considered a larger area than the imprint of the Two Twin Towers. The building where the Mosque would be located received damage from the landing gear from one of the planes that flew into the towers, 45 Park Place received damage 3 stories into it, and that building would be torn down to build the Mosque, and we all know that the RADICAL Islamics like to tear down other people's establishments to erect Mosques on them. It is simply, Islamic history 101, elementary my dear.

because city blocks of Manhattan were covered in soot from the fallen Towers, and more plane debris fell PAST the location of the proposed Mosque. Simply put, it is considered special if not sacred ground.

because the Constitution provides that Americans, all Americans, can exhibit their moral and religious beliefs. 70% of America does NOT want the Mosque there. These 70% have a right to exhibit their own moral and religious beliefs, their voices to be heard, and within law can affectuate to their ability any change that they deem fit. The Imman does not have exclusive rights that pertain solely to him. If he's outvoted, outwitted, he's frankly, just out of luck, no mosque there, as that is the way it goes.

because it is not an issue of "who has rights" but it is more of an issue of "who is right." It is absolutely insensitive to build a Ground Zero Mosque and ignore the sensitivities of the wider America who were absolutely shattered and horrified at the events of 9/11. There really should never have been a debate. It's a non-issue, a given that he would have included the rest of America in his plans for his "interfaith bridge the gaps, continental" experiment.

I can think of many reasons to not build a mosque there, but my final reason would be because he is an American and I can do nothing about that but but I do question his loyalty. I do demand that he needs to ACT like one. He should be putting more care for this country than warning or threatening this country if he doesn't get his way that there would be an explosion of violence against America.

He caused this strife against America by his own self-serving and misquided interests. I can't change his birth certificate or the country of origin on his passport, but I can exert my own American influence in the decision to build a mosque there. After all, I am also an American and that is my right!

In Pakistan, Christians are persecuted. In Saudi Arabia, in case you regulate your faith from Islam, you're killed. i'm concentrated on religious freedom, yet provided that this is a 2-way element. this is humorous how no Islamic u . s . a . has fairly pushed religious freedom or a large guidance for its voters. Multi-culturalism is particularly mono-culturalism as this is an concept almost actual in reaction to liberal Christian concepts. this is fairly ironic that the international Elite will use this nicely-intentioned concept to break Christianity. u.s. became as quickly as the main loose u . s . a . on earth, there's a reason of that: religious association of U.S. Founding Fathers # of Founding Fathers % of Founding Fathers Episcopalian/Anglican 88 fifty 4.7% Presbyterian 30 18.6% Congregationalist 27 sixteen.8% Quaker 7 4.3% Dutch Reformed/German Reformed 6 3.7% Lutheran 5 3.a million% Catholic 3 a million.9% Huguenot 3 a million.9% Unitarian 3 a million.9% Methodist 2 a million.2% Calvinist a million 0.6% entire 204

It is not "on" the site.

It's 2-1/2 blocks away from the 16-acre WTC site, in an old Burlington Coat Factory warehouse and near 2 strip clubs, a sex shop and an OTB parlor. There's also already a mosque 4 blocks away.

Did you know that there was a Muslim prayer room on the 17th floor of the South Tower? I bet you didn't know that.

Did you know that 60 Muslims died in the towers that day? I bet you didn't know that.

    Old news is old.

Hopefully, most people now know that it is a community center two blocks away from Ground Zero, not a mosque.

It should be built. You can't break the constitution. However I personally believe that much of what they're doing with the cultural centre, (laying ground on 9/11/11 and naming it after an Islam-conquered Spanish city) is just meant to sh*it stir.

"I just think they should build a memorial..."

OK, there's a huge number of people that think a memorial should be there. Organize, buy the property, and build one. Document your efforts and turn that in as your assignment. You'd probably get an A because you backed up what you thought with an effort that violated no one's rights.

Let's build it right after someone flies a couple of Arabic airliners into the mosque at Mecca.

It's not even going to be built on ground zero.
