Will the Tea Party save or sink the Republican Party?

Is the selection of TP candidates a boost to conservative activism from which the GOP will benefit; or a millstone of crackpots and nut-jobs which will drive moderate voters into the arms of the Democrats?

They are crackpots and nut jobs. Their vision of America is circa the Robber Baron age 1890-1910. Above all they reject the New Deal FDR, and the War on Poverty (JFK + LBJ). What they really want is no taxes and no regulations, or put more concisely -- nothing to stand between them and their business profits.

In the very short run, next 60 days, they are plainly on the ascendant. The American people are amazingly stupid about politics. They simply are clueless. So when a bunch of nutjobs shows up and calls themselevs "conservatives" and then offers to totally cancel and nullify the America that all of us have grown up in (which is post New Deal and post Civil Rights Era) -- people are misled.

The Tea Party people call themselves "conservative", but they obviously are revolutionaries out to overthrow the America we know by dialing it back at least 100 years.

It would be like people who wanted a Jamestown Colony type lifestyle for all Americans today telling us that they are "conservatives". No -- that would not be "conservative" -- that would be a complete and total overhaul of USA -- something that revolutionaries would do, not conservatives --- radicals.

Will Americans figure this out by 2012?

    I don't think so.

I think Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin will be elected in 2012, with massive assistance from the Tea Party and the Tea Party Express.

When they get in, they will try for their agenda -- No Regulations, No taxation.

At some point, Americans will see that their country has become a Vast Wild West of Savagery -- Every Man for Himself.

They will decide that they don't want that kind of America.

Modern 20th Century liberalism will be reborn. It will be like a Triangle Shirt Fire Moment. People will see that Robber Baron Savagery is not Norman Rockwell's America -- the one they were hoping for when they voted for the Faux "Conservatives" -- the Tea Party Nutjobs and Crackpots.

Newt and Sarah's one term will be even more jarring for America than Obama's one term, but the silver lining is that when modern 20th century liberalism is reborn, the understanding of the basic elements of politics will also be reborn in USA. People will not be so dumb anymore. They won't fall for whackjobs based just on the use of the word "conservative". They will learn to listen better, and look harder at people they elect to major Federal offices.

America is a very young country, where the educational system at the K-12 level has completely collapsed and failed utterly. So, whatever experience America may have historically is not reflected in the awareness or the sagacity of the current crop of voters. They will have to learn by experience, since they did not learn by books, and libraries.

This is a country that could have been designed by Edison. It is the land of the great experiment. Whatever doesn't kill us makes us smarter and stronger. We are hugely resilient and tolerate of huge errors. We are getting through Obama, and after that we will get through Gingrich/Palin, and after that we will be ready for the 21st Century.

Never underestimate USA. We bounce back. It's how checks and balances work. It's how we grope our way toward a more perfect union. Liberty means liberty to make mistakes, and we do. But liberty is a source of huge strength and long-term viability. I have high hopes for USA, and I expect to life to see them fulfilled.

The Tea Party Movement is to select and back candidates that are fiscal conservatives. Some may lean a bit to the right but that is a lot better than far to the left as we have now. We will seek out the RHINOS who destroyed the party and get new blood. The Tea Party will save the Republicans but they will lose if they do not accept our candidates and support them financially. We will donate directly to the candidates. The day of BIG Republican Establishment is over. We are re defining the Republican Party and holding it accountable. Most Americans want to see that happen.

relies upon if the Republicans help the circulation. As of now they portray themselves as an self sustaining circulation even nonetheless their time table represents a conservative push and an extremist one at that. it ought to help bolster the Republicans going into congressional elections and 2012 if extra of the extremist Republicans help them. i won't have the capacity to work out too most of the typical conservatives throwing their help to the circulation except it style of feels that Republican administration of Congress and probable the White domicile remember on it. finally, i do no longer think of the circulation will sink or save the Republican celebration in any respect. that's beside the point because of the fact the Republican celebration isn't in dire straits. The Tea celebration circulation will in easy terms remember if it quite is going to become mandatory for the Republicans to win elections from the Democrats.

  • The tea party "IS" the new Republican party. The old Republican party has drifted so far to the left, people can't distinguish it from the centrist wing of the Democrat party. Smaller government, lower taxes, and strong military with a government that practices fiduciary responsibility, is what the Republican party should stand for. Whats wrong with that? If republicans only think they can win, by electing moderate democrats (who call themselves "republicans") we have all lost. Republican leaders who promote "moderates" have no right to be considered "leaders."

I liked Reagan when he was president. I don't think he would have much time for the Tea Party if he was still alive. They are trying to push the Republican Party to the extreme right. I think this will loose votes for them in the next election. I can see moderate Republicans voting Democrat in order to dump the Tea Party.

The tea party is losing definition as more and more neo cons try to adhere to it for political gain. best example is Hannity. He used to make fun of Ron Paul which "started" the movement and now he is all in to the tea party movement. Anyways I think the republicans mostly neo cons have a big problem. Also I think democrats and tea party movement agree on many things and are more reasonable as to being bipartisan and not misleading or misrepresenting...

The Tea Party will keep Democrats in control of the Senate, they will hurt Repubicans in this area.

The Republicans should win the Houses still.

  • It will sink both Parties..If their candidates really cared about America, there would be no need for a Tea Party. Tea party doesn't care about "R" and "D", just about getting the idiots out regardless of Party.

I'd vote straight ticket Tea Party before I ever vote for a Democrat again.
