Congrats, you are now the owner and gm for an expansion team?
Betman has decided to continue his southern experiment, and you have been named owner of the new team. You can pick one of the following cities to place the team: New Orleans (largest city in the south), Mexico City (trying to expand to an international fan base), Austin, Texas (be the only pro sports team in town), or Boca Raton (a lot of snow bird northerners)
What would the team's name be?
What would the logo, mascot, and colors be?
Design the uniforms?
If you could select a "rival" team, who?
You need to pick 2 lines worth of players. No players who wear letters for their current teams, and only 2 players from the same team allowed. Also, pick 2 goalies.

Based on the fact i like about 20 minutes away from Boca Raton and i absolutely love the city, im going to choose Boca
Teams name: The Boca Rats, or The Rats Mouth (Boca Raton means "The Rats Mouth" in Spanish and as Dweezil Zappa said when i saw him in 2006 in Boca "It truely is the rats mouth of the world!"
Logo, Mascot etc. : Definately a rat of some sort, for the logo maybe an awesome pic of a rat biting a hockey stick, sort of like the San Jose sharks logo but with a rat. Colors would be Black & Orange. Resembling the Anaheim Ducks jersey
Jersey: just said it^
Rival: The Tampa Bay lightning and (sadly my team) The Florida Panthers :'( mostly because the rat tradition they have down there
David Booth-Steven Stamkos-Semin
Ballard-Green
Tomas Vokoun/Craig Anderson
lots of past panthers^

There is a problem with this, first of all Texas is a Football state, High School, College, and Pro, so Austin is out....
New Orleans is a Football tailgating city......They dont even sell that many basketball tickets, so they wont sell hockey tickets
Mexico City will need a lot more than a Hockey team to help there international fan base and Mexico city sounds terrible for a hockey team.....
And Boca Raton, why would Florida need another hockey team, The only 2 states with 3 teams are New York, and California......Old people go to beaches in Boca Raton not to see men crush each other.....NO and The Panthers play in Fort Lauderdale, thats what 10 miles away from Boca? NO
Just stop making up games....or......at least create a game that makes sense!!!

I would like to move to Mexico City and we would be called the Banditos. We would be black and red, and silver, and our logo would be a guy with a handkerchief over his face with a cowboy hat on.
Home it would be a black uniform and black socks with red and silver stripes on the sleves and.
Rival city: Pheonix Coyotes because well we all know AZ and the immigration law.
I will take: Patrick Marleau, Marion Gaborik, Patrick Kane, Nicklas Backstrom, Bobby Ryan, Ilya Kovalchuk
Goalies: Henrik Lundqvist, Ryan Miller
I'd Maybe take Scott Gomez bc of the whole mexico thing

@ LJ
Sorry, this isn't really an answer, I'd just like to point out that Scott Gomez is from the United States. More specifically, he's from Alaska. Let's keep the stereotypes to a minimum here. It'd be like putting an expansion team in Italy and drafting a guy just because his last name is DeMato, even though he's lived in the US his entire life.

I'd chose New Orleans and the name would be the Acadians. (What does Yahoo mean spelt wrong?)
Logo would be an alligator, Mascot would be Pete Lafitte (pirate) Colours would be green and yellow. (Much like Albert in Pogo).
Uniforms are out of my league.
The rival would be the Montreal Canadians (history here folks).
Players:
Goal From Pittsburgh M. A. Fleury
From Ottawa Pascale Le Claire
Defence: From NYI Milan Jurcina and Andrew Mac Donald
From Montreal Alex Picard
From Nashville Aaron Johnson
Forward From Buffalo Jason Pominville
From Florida Steve Bernier
From Edmonton J. F. Jaques
From Minnesota G. Latendresse
From Columbus Derek Brasard
and From Tampa Bay Marc Poulot
Each player played his junior in Acadia Canada and thus will be solid Acadians always.

Sorry I am going to decline your offer, with those choices of cities I will be bankrupt the second game of the season. Thanks for the offer though.
