Well, first, work on getting your cats spayed and neutered so that you don't end up with more kittens than you can handle. ASAP.

Secondly, when they get old enough, put them on a flea and tick preventative prescribed by your vet. Do NOT buy something cheap off of a shelf, though. Those are very harmful to cats and dogs. Ticks are pretty easy to spot, though, so if you don't see any more there probably aren't anymore at the moment. But I'd be more worried about my cats getting diseases or something from those nasty ticks. If your cats are not fixed and are contracting ticks, I'm sorry, but they are not healthy at the moment. :( You should take them to a vet.

The good news is Cats do not get tick bite fever. However, you certainly don't want to leave the ticks on your gorgeous little kitten. Use Frontline or other similar products available from your Vet, or use a Tick and flea shampoo, but be very careful of their eyes.

    Good luck

From what i remember your not supposed to just pull em off coz if ya pull em it leaves part of the tick inside. When my dads cat used to get em ha used to have to burn em with a hot needle or summt so they kinda let go, sounds horrible i know.

You will see them soon if there is more coz as you know tey get pretty big. I dont think you can prevent them like you can flees. Cats just get em off other animals like hedgehogs, rats, badgers all sorts of animals get them.

I best guess is to wash the babies in a gentle tick wash, and get some medicine for any adult animals.

take them to the vet or they can die
