How do I get rid of the spiders?

I live on the 8th floor of a fairly new apartment building. It's mostly steel and concrete between floors. But for some reason, I find about a spider a day in the apartment I just moved into!

I keep my apartment clean: I vacuum, dust, and use sanitizing cleaner, etc. There aren't any visible webs anywhere.

The only thing I can think of are the vents, but that seems unlikely.

So what are some ways to deter the spiders??

Spiders eat insects, w/o insects, no food for the spiders. Spiders don't eat much but they are attracted to something in your apartment. If you want to spray make sure it is not the typical insect bug spray, it won't work. Spiders are not insects, get something specific for spiders. If it persists you need to consult an exterminator. Try & seal any & all openings to the outside, elctrical outlets & where water or gas pipes penetrate your walls. Do you have a lot of plants...plants can easily be purchased with spiders.

You said you just moved in. Have you unpacked everything and gotten rid of all the boxes?

Spiders (and roaches) love cardboard boxes.

Spiders do not like lemon pledge furniture polish and lavender. Cinnamon repels them.
