Why does my tractor battery fail?

Why does my tractor battery fail after 12-15 months on a regular basis? It works fine for a period of time, then I have to boost it to start. It started in Spring after a long cold winter and ran well thru the summer then failed. How would I know if it's the charging system or a failing battery? Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

the reason your battery keeps failing is that you leave it so long it discharges and sulphur's up, get a trickle charger and use it say every 3 weeks, get your charge rate checked it takes only a couple of minutes at the garage

Once your tractor is started remove the cables from the battery,if the engine dies it is your charging system
