what is problem with Taurus?

Ok, got or had, a 9 shot revolver, pt25, 24/7, judge, pt58, the 1911 and never..NEVER had any problems with them.Reliable, well built. My 24/7 in 40 is laying right be side now. I trust it. Have I got lucky?Gave the 9 shooter 22 to my big sister All she could handle then.

Forn reliabilty aned acuracy, I'lln put up my Taurus 1911 against any of the others. Unless its a Ruger. Gonna get flamed for this.

Update:

got a paraord and a ruger345 too.Did i say Colt 1911 stainless or the Delta Elite?Just trying to say don't mock the latter day Tauri?

    Tommy:

Good Question --- I totally agree with you. I may get "flamed" as well. There are a lot of Taurus "haters" on this Forum. But I have noticed there is a strong contingent of Taurus Lovers on here as well --- maybe not as vocal as the "Taurus haters", but I believe just as strong if not stronger.

The Taurus guns I own have been great. I have a stainless PT-92 in 9mm, pearl handles, gold accents. Absolutely gorgeous. I also own a stainless Raging Bull in 454 Casull --- just an awesome looking handgun. Both are beautiful handguns, and both have performed excellent. People come to my home, and see 15 beautiful guns in my gun cabinet --- but they always start drooling over either the Taurus PT-92, or fall in love with the .454 Raging Bull.

Yes --- they are less expensive. That does not imply that they have less quality control, or are a cheap gun. Just because I might be willing to pay $300 or $400 more for a similar looking handgun (Smith & Wesson, or Beretta) doesn't mean that the more expensive one is better. It actually puts pressure on the person that paid the extra $300 for the Smith to justify why he did it.

I would love to get my hands on the new Taurus 1911. I live in California, and the Taurus 1911 has not been "blessed" by the California Gestapo yet, so we will see what happens.

Ok, I had a Taurus 85 ultra-lite in 38 SPL that kept eating springs, I wound up selling it at a discount as a result. A revolver that wouldn't reliably go bang? Not for this paranoid bastard. I've been a bit leery ever since.

That said, I wouldn't blink to start carrying a new taurus 1911, the two brazilian firms make each others parts, the difference between the Imbel made one and a taurus made one is probably nil.

Will not buy another revolver though....personal preference.

Taurus is a good gun for the money. They are not a great gun, they have not won any state or national championships that I know of............. but they are not designed for that. Taurus are 'service' guns. If you are a guard, cop, and need a gun to carry day in, day out, scuff up - and not care more about the gun than doing your job - Taurus is for you.

And a Taurus isn't going to outshoot a Kimber. I tested a pair of Kimber Grand Talon II's and they did rings around my favorite Colt Gold Cup National Match.

You buy a Taurus - you got a Taurus. You buy a Kimber - you have craftsmanship and artwork - and this is what will make it appreaciate in value. Some people find wonderful pets at the dog pound and wouldn't trade the world for them - some folks pay hundreds (and thousands) for a dog. Same thing with guns.

    Nothing.

Its like Coke vs. Pepsi vs. Dr. Pepper. All have same stuff in it, but some folks just like one more than another. I like Taurus. Good weapons, at a good price and a wide selection of models. My only nitpick is they kill off as many models as they make. Like the Gaucho single action. Make it for a while then like a kid with ADD they move on. Not fan of most of their polymer autos. That is a styling thing. By the same token I don't care for sigs or Glock much at all (ugly bricks with barrels).

if you have never had a problem then thats great, but a lot of people talk bad about them because a lot of people have problems with primarily their semi-auto's. I myself have owned the pt99 and pt22 and both had problems jamming and the pt.22 also had problems just plain not firing and it was brand new. I have heard bad reviews on their customer service and that to me is one of the biggest deciding factors in buying a gun. I want to know that if something ever goes wrong that the company will fix it. if you like taurus then more power to you and I wish you the best of luck but personally I am sticking with ruger or remington on new guns.

edit: just after answering this question I went to youtube and this was a suggested video for me. take a look, its a taurus revolverhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vftq9hNpvBc&feature...

nothing.....they just sell slightly cheaper guns which means quality control isn't as great .....tho they have gotten better..

** also due to their lifetime warranties lots of backlog on repairs/service and warranty work....some say this is due to poor quality to start with.....

Source(s): personally waiting on taurus to send me new grips for a pt-22.....said it would b covered under warranty as long as i mailed the old ones in.......been over 2 months now.....and they keep giving me the run around....then again it is a '02 gun so they probably going to say it was wear and tear or misuse...
