  • Do you trust your own handloads more than factory ammo? Legal issues aside, what do you trust more?

Aside from a bad primer, I can watch each and every step as I load the ammo. Have found a few factory loads where the primer is inverted. Comments, please?

  • How can we get a good 44 or 45 load from the factory?

I, myself, would like to see CCI or whoever, (them) offer a 44 special load at 950 fps with a gold dot bullet from a 3 inch barrel, a light load for a 44mag, 200 grains at 1150 from a 4 inch,45 colt, again, at least 200 gr.tween 1000 to 1200fps from a 3 to 4 inch barrel.Yeah, I can do it with handloads, but what about the lawyers?I want real velocities outta real guns. Not a test barrel. Yep, got 210 grain silvertips in my ruger, got the 200 grain cci in my 454. Them both mags. Silvertips, good medium range load. Got a SuperRedHawk? Think about what a 200 grain gold dot at 1150 fps will feel like, 45 caliber, outta your redhawk?I love my 1911's, but revolver still got it's place.

  • what is problem with Taurus?

Ok, got or had, a 9 shot revolver, pt25, 24/7, judge, pt58, the 1911 and never..NEVER had any problems with them.Reliable, well built. My 24/7 in 40 is laying right be side now. I trust it. Have I got lucky?Gave the 9 shooter 22 to my big sister All she could handle then.

Forn reliabilty aned acuracy, I'lln put up my Taurus 1911 against any of the others. Unless its a Ruger. Gonna get flamed for this.

  • If you like me, can legally carry concealed, what is your first choice of weapon and ammo?

I'm a big guy. Can carry most anything. 1911, glock, etc. When I say big guy, think concealed.. Do have to think about smaller weapon in the summer. I'm partial to my old reliable Bersa 380 loaded with Buffalo Bore hollowpoints. Also known to tuck taurus pt-25 in a pocket. Hey, better than throwing rocks.

I realize this is a personal thing, just wanted to see what ya'll thunk about it.

  • Bandersnatch hunting options?

Re: All the people that answered my bandersnatch(?). Could not give everyone 5 thumbs up. Survived the hunt, have new trophy. And lots of meat stored in a stasis field. Good thing I had the kzin backing me up. Damned inertial dampening fields failed after the first shot. Second shot took my shoulder off. Literally. My kudoes to the people at Sector General and the autodoc. Would like to thank you all with a BBQ. Door prizes will be awarded. Antique BOLO MK 15 is grand prize.Or choose a case of the classic Pepsi. I feel like a one-headed puppeteer.By the way, had weapons customized by the moties. RSVP. This is a bbq for bandersnatch, so bring lots of friends.

  • Have been selected to recieve a hunting permit on Jinx for bandersnatch.Advice?

Lucky me. I get to hunt Frumious bandrsnatch on Jinx. Will the 460 weatherby/raytheon railgun suffice?

And for a strictly last resort, will the RugerHowdah .455 pulse pistol with .783 megajoules per barrel keep me, being a sentient from being eaten or ,torn asunder by these beasts?ARM has approved of this trip, as well as the bandersnatch.Plan to have a coterie of Kzinti as my bearers.

  • calculate recoil for big bore revolvers?

Is there a simple formula that would let me calculate free recoil with my handguns? Tain't a new guy. i KNOW... weight of gun, bullet weight, powder charge. Hey ya'll asking how much something kicks? If this bullet at this weight is fired at this velocity in a gun that weighs this amount. How can I figure the recoil energy?Need to tell a few folks they rifles don't kick that much.Shoot 22 grains of 296 with a 320 44in my redhawk.Hardcast. projectile.. Love my 454 ruger casull.
