look on wikipedia- generally each article has references to other sites.

other victims included Gypsies/Romani (who, ironically, are actually an aryan people), jehova's witnesses, homosexuals, political prisoners/resistance fighters, communists, dissidents and some Poles.

Criminals were also sent to concentration camps, but not treated as badly.

It wasn't only the Jews who were victims, though they certainly are the main and most famous.Other victims in the Holocaust include the mentally disabled and the handicapped. Another religious group that were focused on were the gypsies. If my memory serves me correctly, some 80% of their population was wiped out. Anyone who helped these groups escape persecution was considered a traitor and sometimes persecuted themselves. Also, anyone who apposed the government suffered similar fates if they spoke out loud. There are probably others as well, but they escape my mind right now.

    Hope that helps a bit.

this is in part a semantic argument. confident, the literal meaning of holocaust is as defined, and is in many situations utilized in that experience. Holocaust (capital H) refers back to the organised mass killings by making use of the Nazis - it truly is a named adventure. it truly is trouble-free to have events given appropriate names of hassle-free nouns, so not something new there. Metaphor will become call. The dogma of it truly is there to a pair volume; if I deny the Earth is around, i'm civilly handed over as attainable loose crackpot. If I deny the Holocaust, i'm lambasted as a monster verging on evil. i think of this is only political correctness in its modern-day state; it truly is much less contentious to disclaim the Armenian Genocide, as an occasion, even nevertheless the data is likewise overwhelming. In some international places it truly is actual unlawful to disclaim the Holocaust. those international places are in many situations those the place there substitute right into attainable of persevered Nazi sympathies after the conflict. in spite of the undeniable fact that, this is now somewhat a protracted time in the past; such criminal regulations at the instant are extra probably to feed into the claims of those deniers who declare it truly is a central authority-led conspiracy. The data for the Holocaust is overwhelming, yet some human beings nonetheless think of it needs specific criminal defence. i think of you ought to call that dogma.

In a conference on the non-Jewish victims of the Nazis, Dr. Gordon Zahn, University of Massachusetts, defined the Nazis’ victims under three headings: (1) those who suffered for what they were—Jews, Slavs, Gypsies; (2) those who suffered for what they did—homosexuals, political activists, and resisters; (3) and those who suffered for what they refused to do—conscientious objectors, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and others.

The nazis had a whole extermination scheme that included Jews, Gays, Gipsys, Kurds, Sovietics, Mentally Disabled and others, as a matter of fact the Nazis would put badges on their shoulders to tell them appart, here you got the list of badges at the bottom of this page:
