Will you anti-evolutionists who create strawmen stop creating strawmen?
Seriously, you cant even say question without someone posting "LOL SO YOUR DADS A MONKEY THEN?" or something similar.
Way to not understand the theory of evolution, go read about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution because even wikipedia is more reliable than logical fallacies.
inb4 "we dont all create strawmen". You can see in the syntax of my question that I specifically addressed those anti-evolutionists who create strawmen arguments.
meant to type say evolution* not say question
@ Other Graham
You see, in English there are these things called "plural nouns". Plural nouns have different declensions (basically forms) than their singular counterparts. The plural of Strawman is in fact Strawmen. Condescending enough for your attempted condescending response.
Technically there is one spot where I put strawmen instead of strawman, which is when i referred to them as strawman arguments. that is the only place, however.
@ LabGrrl
I considered this, but if he's really that stupid to think that this is a strawman then it isnt worth my time to talk with him
Hell, this isnt even an argument, its a vain notification that anti-evolutionists are using strawmen a lot on this site and in other places.
@ Knarf
Yes.... sadly enough it's true. In its simplicity irrationality is readily understood and followed... the primary source of my depression and grief which I try to extinguish in these hopeless acts but cannot. I suppose must either give up or bump up the scale....

Why should we stop creating "strawman" arguments ?
It has the desired effects - like it gets some attention. Right?
Perhaps the most egregious such strawman is encapsulated in the phrase "RM & NS". Short for "random mutation and natural selection", RM & NS is held up by creationists and IDers as the core of evolutionary biology, and are then attacked as insufficient to explain the diversity of life and (in the case of some IDers) its origin and evolution as well.

I believe he was calling YOUR argument a strawman, hun... sort of "I know you are but what am I?"
Anyways. They have no choice, they used to create papermen, but then those floated away. The papermen evolved into strawmen, stickmen and brickmen, and only the last is evolved 'enough' to survive in a niche with big bad wolves.
Geeze, trying to use Creationist logic is hard.

For many years that's what evolution taught. I remember seeing this chart hanging in the classroom when I attended school. Why do you think people talk about the missing link? Because the chart showed a monkey turning into a human and we had monkeys and humans but nothing resembling the pictures of what was drawn in between the two.

What you are being taught about evolution will change later as the evidence shows that what you are being taught to be false also, evolution has a very long history of this happening. Piltdown man, Nebraska Man, Lucy, etc, etc, etc.

They do not know what evolution is, what it actually says, or even what science it applies to. They throw all kinds of different fields and theories they don't like under an umbrella they label "evolution" and attack that.
I have yet to talk to a Creationist who has anything resembling accurate understanding of what the theory is. They get their impressions and definitions from predigested and spoon-fed Creationist sites or authorities and never bother to fact-check or even so much as read a Reader's Digest version of what the ToE is.
