Why do perfumes and air fresheners make me sick?

It is probably MCS (multiple chemical sensitivities). Many of the chemicals in perfumes that keep them liquid cause allergic reactions in many people.

You can get these reactions, and worse, from cleaning products, spray bug killers, fertilizers and insecticides for your lawn/garden, etc. too.

If it is only a headache, you are lucky. Some have more deadly reactions.

You might not be bothered by perfume that doesn't go airborn like a spray or pump. You can try powders, creams, solids to see if that avoids the problem.
