can mold in my apartment be causing my son's bronchitis?
My 4 year old son has had bronchitis for 3 weeks now. He had a bad cough for 3 weeks, we tried to treat it with over the counter cough syrup before having to take him to the doctor & getting him put on antibiotics.
We have mold growing in every window in our apartment, in our bathroom & along the front door frame. I try to keep it clean with beach water but seeing as that only cleans the surface it just comes right back. We have a "working" fan in our bathroom & over our stove. I run both fans whenever I do dishes or anyone in the apartment takes showers, we also keep both back windows opened slightly for fresh air. Still can't get rid of the mold.
Also the last time I moved my bed there was mold growing up the wall from the carpet, a really furry green kind (gag btw). The rest of the mold is black and speckled looking. Any information would be helpful.
The apartment management won't do anything about the mold & I can't afford to move for 6 more months.

Yes. Mold and fungus reproduce by live spores that are airborne. Many types of spores can be seriously aggravating to respiratory systems. I think most states have laws requiring landlords to take care of mold and mildew in rental properties. I would research that in my area, and in the mean time notify the doctor of the mold. May change your sons treatment. Bronchitis can turn into Pneumonia.

I once suffered from Chronic Bronchitis. I would suffer sometimes 3 to 4 times per year! Usually when there was a major change in the pressure outside (I live in the north, and the temperature spikes and dips do wonders to chronic sufferers of bronchitis!). Each time I would get horrible hacking coughs, hoarking up green phlegm..it was so frustrating!
The key to getting rid of your bronchitis is to find a way to completely eliminate the germs that are causing all the phlegm and irritation leading to your hoarking cough and heavy breathing. Keep reading to learn how to do kill these germs!!
