I have heard of hopi ear candles and would like to give them a go, but first I would like to know if they actually work.
Can anyone give me any advice?
Thanks in advance!

No. I had tried ear candles for several years, thinking they worked. Then one day I actually cut one open (I know..ewww) to see what was drawn out. The candle was filled with beads of wax from the candle and a powdery yellow substance that was the product of combustion. These are inherently dangerous as well as you have a flaming object just above your hair with only a paper plate between you and it.
They do not work and you are better served to use a bulb syringe kit specifically designed for cleaning ears.

I had my hearing damaged by an incredibly loud roadworks machine years ago. I can understand why it drives you nuts. The solution that I used for a long time was having my radio on, quietly, while I lay in bed. After a while you get used to it and start getting to sleep easy. My tinnitus seams to have reduced as the years have gone by, either that or I've got used to it. An alternative to a radio would be a fish tank with one of those bubble machines, you don't need any fish in it; just the bubbles to create background noise. The brain does eventually filter out tinnitus, but don't hold your breath, I've been waiting 15 years. I hope that these suggestions help.

No they don't, they can do more harm than good, if you have problems with your ears, go and see your doctor, not rely on this quack medicine.

Even Naturopaths recommend AGAINST their use'

@Ron :
it's a good job you are retired, so you cannot do harm anymore to humanity as a doctor.
That's the only thing why I appreciate government,
well...
maybe also their funding Defence so we can kill each other,
So that's a good balance :
people living longer because of medicine
people dying younger because of medicine and
people dying younger because of the army and ideology as an illusion.
In this context I can telly you Hopi Ear Candles could work.

Yes they do, but you have use a paper plate (with a hole cut in it for your ear) and a towel to cover your head to make sure it doesn't melt and burn you. Personally, I think the ear wax cleaning kit with peroxide ( which you can get at the drug store) works a lot better without the cost and chance of burning yourself.

What do you want them to do? It doesn't seem likely they would do anything useful.
