Are you willing to admit that you don't give a toss about climate change...?

Are you prepared to risk the ire and the snide remarks from the true believers by declaring that you are not particularly concerned about the supposed dire consequences of climate change.

Sure, we are pumping more CO2 into the atmosphere, no one disputes that...and the temperature has risen a fraction of 1 degree.

But who believes the "sky is falling in" predictions?

Who is more concerned about keeping or finding a job...and paying the mortgage than about predicted catastrophic consequences some computer has come up with?

I studied Climate Change at university as part of my degree and i used to deeply care about this issue. Now i have completely gone the other way. I just don't care anymore. I do believe as you said that CO2 is rising and so is temperature, blah blah blah. However, humans are only speeding up the process. There was an article a read some months back and it mentioned that If the UK completely stopped all factory production and all businesses and households shut off their electricity consume, etc. Basically if the UK shut down, it would not make an ounce of a difference to the CO2 levels. You see, from i studied, CO2 has always been rising and humans are just speeding up the effects.

So all in all i don't care, i still do my bit but all governments just use the issue to control us and tax us more for their coffers. They are not interested in the issue for the sake of humans and other species of the planet but for money and their bank accounts. What a 'great' world we live in.

The only ones that really care and support global warming generally have a vested interest in the scam and they usually fall into the following categories:

    Profits of Doom

    Environmentalist Activists (Tree Huggers)

    Work promoting the green industry

Hate the free world as they want to tax us to death put our nations GDP into reverse, free-fall, high unemployment, etc generally they don't give a damn about anybody else.

Mainly Communists however some fascists as proved by their adverts

Religious fanatics as global warming is a religion and not science, so generally they have a low IQ...flat earth types, Intelligent Design Believers.

The rest of us need to put up with their trolling on a regular basis however governments are realising that global warming is a ship sailing into icy waters!

I "give a toss" about the climate, but I don't believe we can really cause these supposed problems with the climate nor do I believe we can do anything about the climate, because I don't buy into the fake science that supports the AGW hoax.

Once you see beyond the veil, it becomes just another attempt by socialists to enslave the people.

My goal would be for everyone to have the veil lifted from their eyes before it's too late.

"Are you willing to admit that you don't give a toss about climate change...?"

I care. It's my favorite hobby.

"But who believes the "sky is falling in" predictions?"

The scientifically illiterate, Enviromarxists and those who make their living as Chicken Littles.

"Who is more concerned about keeping or finding a job...and paying the mortgage than about predicted catastrophic consequences some computer has come up with?"

I am... Unfortunately, so are the Enviromarxists and those who make their living as Chicken Littles.

..i wouldnt go as far as saying i dont care, but lets just say i think humanity has bigger problems.

personally, i think if they focused half as much on ending war and dispute in the middle east, or saving animals which may go endangered, or solving world poverty as they did on global warming, the world would be a better place,

okay, so its afew degrees hotter. well in 2000 years they can sort that out, but at the moment thereare more important issues.

It's one of several issues I am concerned about from a number of different perspectives. Someone else very aptly pointed out that we don't have to focus on only one issue at a time. My own point of view is regardless of ones 'beliefs' about climate change that it is selfish, self-centred and greedy to not be concerned about the issue and the potential impact on mankind both short and long term. To simply dismiss it and ones own behavior is irresponsible and contradicts virtually every social, cultural, religious, economic and political creed ever developed by humans, and collectively we do 'risk the ire' of our fellow beings by the abandonment of what might simply be called common decency.

I have heard of and from people who believe the sky is falling, but by and large those predictions are extreme and hyped by the media, just as the opposite argument-that climate change is not occurring and if it is, it is not affected at all by mankind's activities is extreme and hyped by conservative media and pundits.

I think it is a matter of concern, and one of my concerns is we don't know precisely what, when or how climate change will come home to roost; this makes it very difficult for us to determine a course of action that will protect us to the greatest degree possible both now and in the future.

Simply put, the geopolitical and economic implications are absolutely huge to each of us today and in the near future, and the climactic impacts-which we don't fully understand yet-may indeed and without resorting to any sort of alarmism may already be affecting us now and more so within a very few generations. We just don't know with certainty to what degree (so to speak.)

So sure, I'm concerned about making a living and paying my bills along with many other personal issues-few people aren't. But that certainly doesn't rule out interest, concern and active involvement in talking with others and being open to learning about and taking care of the environment. It is frustrating to me the level of ignorance that is displayed by people who clearly don't understand the issue, are unable to discuss it with any degree of intelligence, or simply think that by digging in their heels and sticking their heads in the sand that climate change won't begin to affect us in the very near future in one way or another. That's denial-we can either be part of the process and offer ideas that will advance the political process or just 'not care' and let some group, organization or government body at either extreme of the political spectrum enact some totalitarian policies that will impact us almost immediately, or we can become educated on the issues. When we are, our voices will matter-until then, declaring Al Gore a fat hypocrite or the science of climate change a huge global political conspiracy, etc. etc. etc. will raise the ire of and get the snide remarks from other people you so decry.

Hey Bob, you ask good question, yeah " I don't give toss" bout what most psuedo-science guys here call climate change, and I don't have problem with that at all. This site not for serious stuff anyway, just for fun, ok?

Peace and aloha to you from Hawaii, where climate very good, thank you.

    This

"Who is more concerned about keeping or finding a job...and paying the mortgage than about predicted catastrophic consequences some computer has come up with?"

Is a sign of short term self interest something many political groups try to appeal to, in terms of current world events that can be seen in Afghanistan many groups are pushing to get out even though in the long run leaving is something we may all pay for latter.

The same is true of AGW lots of whining about how much it will cost to fix, with the standard catch cry of "let's wait and see" the fairly obvious out come of that is it will cost a lot more to fix.

As for "the temperature has risen a fraction of 1 degree"

interesting if you are talking in deg F then you are into whole numbers not fractions even if you mean deg C then 0.6c is hardly a fraction of a degree when a rise of 8c is the standard difference between a glacial a nd interglacial.

Not happening, the Earth has gone through climate cycles before. Does anybody even remember the little ice age?

    No. I really don't care.

I care about the way humanity is in the shitter now, now 20 years from now.
