Are Tarot Cards evil?

Have NOTHING to do with any form of spiritism as this is the workings of Satan the Devil and his Demons, it is just one of the many tools the Devil uses to turn us against Jehovah God.

A friend of mine thinks that Tarot cards are evil, or like witchcraft or something.

But I thought Tarot cards were just a fortune-telling game or something.

Someone please let me know if using Tarot Cards is evil/bad or not because I bought a deck along time ago and a lot of my classmates got...

Ummm.... I looked up Galatians 5:19 and maybe they were quoting from another version of the bible, but the one i read from said "Now, you know the works of the flesh. They are: sexual sin, uncleanness, wild living" I'm not entirely sure what they mean by that, "5:20 - worshipping of idols, witchcraft," which, yes some witches practice tarot but not all and if you do it does not make you Wiccan or witch,"hate, wrangling, jealousy, anger, selfishness, quadreling, divisions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like."

So, just to be clear the definition of spiritualism is "A system of belief or religious practice based on supposed communication with the spirits of the dead, especially through mediums."

Tarot cards are not used to communicate with the dead. Some see them as a card game, others use them to tell the future or get more insight into the past or present. Therefore, tarot cards, according to Galatians 5:19-20 in The Bible, are not "against the rules".

This is dumb. Tarot cards are pieces of cardboard with pretty pictures on them made in chinese factories. They were originally a card game, and I highly doubt God considers cards evil.

As for reading the Tarot, if its just for fun (meaning you aren't stupid and don't believe these pretty pieces of cardboard actually represent anything mystical) there should be nothing wrong with it.

If you are actually into the whole magic scene or whatever, even then, as far as I know, Tarot is a reading of your energies and subconscious, not actually divination (although I'm not the most informed) so even within some of the most literal Christian readings of the Bible it could be lumped in as okay.

No, they're not. At one point WAY back in history when Tarot was in it's infancy, yes, they were a game. They were the equivalent of today's standard Poker deck.

There are christians that use tarot cards as a means by which god will show them the possible outcomes of a persons life/decissions ect through the reading of the cards and/or guide them in the direction thats god wants them to take..They believe that divination from god is not a sin in this manner...what they practice is often called angel readings rather than tarot reading. The tarot cards are a way to hold up a mirror to what is in your mind and heart and help you know yourself better. The cards are only as evil as the person they are mirroring. It is like a gun, a gun does not kill people it is the person behind the gun who pulls the trigger.

To me that says, that tarot cards are not evil, we work in love and light and we are spiritualist, we do NOT worship Satan and we are NOT his demons to do his evil work. So use your tarot cards in love and light without any worries, just remember that if I was evil or bad then I would not be able to step in the grace of God and be welcomed.

Tarot cards are a tool and nothing more. You can change a tire with a tire changing wrench, or you can bash in someone's head with it. Does that make the tool evil, or is the person misusing the tool evil?

Your friends world must be a very disturbing place, where even pieces of card are locked in a battle between absolute good and evil. That kind of intellectual landscape is highly unstable. If I were you, support your friend, but keep a safe emotional space between you, as that just kind of mindset can never be either healthy nor entirely stable.
