Am I weird for being a teenager with high morals?

Okay... I'm a 17 year old girl.

And basically a lot of the peers that I meet live in a totally different world than I do.

I don't really mind because I accept them for who they are, but most of them think I'm weird, uptight, and think I put myself on a pedestal, which I do not. I know I am far from perfect, and I never try to change people or tell them they're wrong.

But anyway, most of peers think it's okay to do things like: curse out or beat on their parents, have more than one girl/boyfriend (and have sex with them) at one time, etc. But I think it's wrong...

Am I weird? Sometimes I feel out of place.

People say I'm too conservative, but I feel that these days rebelliousness IS the new conservative.

"Weird" can be a good thing, as in this case. Hold on to your high morals. I find it scary to see so many young people grow up without them. If I finish my life in a nursing home, I hope to have caregivers who don't mistreat me! I'm only in my early 30s right now, but if this trend continues....eeek!

Really, American culture is hypocritical to its core.

You do whats right and they give you **** and say "who do you think you are?"

turn around and do the exact opposite and they begin to snub you and start calling you a "a loose wh@@e."

It don't matter what you do, they going be ***** regardless.

My advice is do whats best for you cause they don't care about you. If you still care whats right, my advice is figure out what is the unspoken yet middle line between those two extremes which doesn't get people to turn on you but still lets you live a morally decent life.

I don't like when people follow their own morals instead of mindlessly conforming to others. That's why I punch people in the face when they don't drink or have unprotected sex all the time. j/k

Don't let them ruin you the way someone did them. This problem will never go away. Even if you become like them.

NO, you're definitely not weird, it's good you have those morals, more people should. Those things are wrong anyway, aren't they?

"I accept them for who they are..."

    plus

    "But I think it's wrong..."

    equals

    Somebody who wants to be

but doesn't really believe they are

    better than other people.

Know this, instead: You are as good, and that's good enough.
