How do you get a Pokemon friend code?
My best friend just got me into Pokemon and I have SoulSilver, which I'm using on my Nintendo DS Lite.
Okay, so I know that you have to go to your Pal Pad and click ____'s Friend Code, but then it takes me to a screen that says "To obtain your friend code, please log on to Nintendo WFC"
What the heck does that mean and what am I supposed to do?

you must start your game and before you click on your game file go down to wireless options and set up your wireless connection

To obtain your friend code, you have to log on to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. That means you have to connect your DS to the Internet. There are directions on how to do this in your instruction booklet, on your DS when you turn on Pokémon Soul Silver and are on the menu below "New Game" or in my source for this answer.
