If Lennie hadn't killed Curley's Wife in Of Mice and Men, would they have gotten the small farm?
Was their dream possible/likely?
Do you think they were bound to sabotage themselves somehow?

I think George new all along that they would never get the farm. I think he indulged in the fantasy to help Lennie and to take care of Lennie. George knew it wasn't likely that either of them would be able to save enough in the way they were forced to live and work to be able to afford the farm. George also knew that Lennie sometimes did things that caused others to see him for something that he wasn't, i.e. a murderer (which I guess technically he was a murderer, but it was more like unintentional manslaughter) and knew that it was really only a matter of time before he made a huge mistake and people came after him for revenge. I think he was doing his best to take care of Lennie and prevent him from doing anything that bad, but he couldn't control every situation and knew that.
