Voting for republicans will take away the rights of the poor and working class. Isn't it strange how some don't view our nations poor to be adequately poor enough for them? They long for the days when people lived in cardboard boxes and stood in soup lines. I enjoy not living in a third world country with children begging in the streets.

In the United States people have the right to choose how to live their lives. Believe it or not, there are a number of people who wish to start their own business, dedicate nearly 16 hours a day to the endeavor and take a huge risk that they can loose their investment. There are also people willing to spend years of hard work studying and running up debts to acquire advanced degrees and training required to enter their chosen profession, again, with no guarantee they will succeed. There are also people who work hard at their jobs to advance their position and gather more and more skills to increase their value. There are also people who work for a living but have other interests that they pursue as well. Then there are Those who simply show up, do as little as possible to get paid and go home. Finally there are people who don't want a job at all.

Believe it or not, all of these people have the exact same rights. They have the right to pursue happiness however they choose to define it. What you see above is how they choose to define happiness.

The only thing that even comes close to taking away the rights of the poor is Welfare. Welfare makes those who receive it totally dependent. The are no longer on the ladder of success. They are a permanent underclass often third or fourth generation unwed mothers. We did a disservice to poor people when we made the Social Safety Net a hammock.

The simple commonsense truth is this. If you want to discourage a behavior, tax it. If you want to encourage a behavior, subsidize it. Right now, we are discouraging success and encouraging failure. It cannot end well.

First change the definition until more than 50% 0f all American voters are "poor".

Place them on the dole so they will always vote Democrat.

Keep raising taxes to pay thor that burden.

Once everyone is on the dole you can tell them what to do, where, and how to live for the rest of their lives.

If you have less than two big-screen TV's, an iPod, and newer than 5 year old car, you are poor in America.

The better question might be should we limit people like you from asking dumb questions
